Too loud to use

I had no clue this wpuld be so loud. Not like 40 years ago.
Bought this brand and model because it was only choice on shelf, and it was pricey.. Almost immediately there was and still is a problem that may be a design flaw in the way the water conduit attaches to the tank. The water pulses frequently cut off while the motor is running. It seems that the position of the water conduit is very sensitive for water flow. Therefore the position you have to be in makes it cumbersome and difficult to use. Either that or the unit was 'bad' right out of the box. Either way, not impressive. I usually use interplak--doesn't have thus problem. I was traveling and needed a unit for tooth/gum problem and the travel unit by WP wasn't working that well either.
I brought this about a month ago and WOW. For me it's exactly what I needed. I hated to floss because it caused bleeding. This tool blast away plaque without the bleeding. Only one thing I wasn't happy with is I didn't get a tongue scraper.
I excitedly purchased a WaterPik hoping for improved oral health. Sadly it did not work out that way for me. The machine works mechanically, hence a second star given, but it does not clean as well as floss. I love the idea but it doesn't translate in reality. In addition, my teeth are incredibly sensitive currently. I just returned it to the store. I guess I'm back to the barbaric flossing.

The unit is a bit loud but I have been pleased overall. The device has encourage better oral hygiene and makes flossing fun. I just wish they will update the technology and make a quoted version. All and all very pleased though.
It needs to be plugged in and unplugged at every use. There is no self charging. It is a bit troublesome when filling the reservoir because you either need a glass to fill with water, or pull the reservoir off and run under the faucet, which can cause the rubber gasket to move and then leak on the sink area. You must be careful how the tub/ reservoir pulls free from the base to prevent this. Overall the function of cleaning between the teeth is very appealing. It is amazing how much gunk gets stuck after meals!
