disappointed in this product-found mold in lining

I originally bought this product to improve my teeth and was very happy with the performance in terms of flossing. However, I was very disturbed to find that there was mold all throughout the clear pik and in the lining after only using it for one month. I am concerned this might be a product defect, and I am afraid it will affect my health if I continue to use it. I'm very disappointed in the waterpik not having more quality control over this molding issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Running distilled white vinegar and warm water through the unit and handle regularly, as recommended, will prevent the issue by breaking down any buildup that may be accumulating. Here is a link to our cleaning blog that has detailed cleaning instructions.

I have used the WP100 4/17/12 until 4/13/19 when it had to be replaced this pic only lasted 5 months I put up with it's leaking until I could't stand it and replaced it on 1/16/2020

I got my Waterpik for Christmas last year and had a cleaning appt. last week (2/6). I didn't mention it to the technician until she said to me "I don't know what you have been doing but your gums look amazingly better." What a thrill. After just one month of use! It was just what I was waiting to hear. She now wants me to sit in the lobby each afternoon and tell my story - be a Waterpik Posterchild!!

I HAVE HAD MY FLOSSER FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. MY DENTIST WAS MY DENTIST WAS CONCERNED ABOUT MY GUM HEATH. MY FLOSSING HABITS WERE NOT THR BEST. A FRIEND, KNOWING OF MY DESIRE TO USE A WATERPIK FLOSSER AS MY DENTAL SOLUTION, BOUGHT ME MINE FOR CHRISTMAS. MY MOUTH HAS NEVER BEEN CLEANER AND MY DENTIST IS THRILLED WITH MY IMPROVED GUM HEALTH. I EVEN ENJOY FLOSSING NOW AND DO IT ON A REGULAR BASIS. THANKS WATERPIK!!!

Don't know why I waited so long to buy one. My dental hygienist recommended it for a particular tooth and the gum around it. I have stopped flossing with thread and use this twice a day. My teeth have never been cleaner or felt better. My bridge no longer collects debris since the Water Pic gets every drop!
