Worst Brother Printer Purchase in Recent Years

Difficult to set up on Mac and wireless network. Printer is still not working on network; only print a few pages before failing.
I have purchased many Brother printers in the recent past and this one was a let down.

We purchased this printer for its fast printer ability and photo printing options. Our main disappointment was in the photo quality.

I've had this printer for a few months now. It prints beautifully in both color and black and white. It's quiet and quick. This is a big step up from my old inkjet printer. I was surprised at how good color portraits print! Just an overall great printer!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Office printer for the home

I've had this color laser printer for about four months now, and I have yet to find fault with it. It lacks some of the more exotic features that a complete business printer might have, but as a business-like printer for the home, this printer hits the sweet spot with every feature I'll ever use. The print quality is excellent, even on draft copies, and the color on photo paper is rich and sharp. Setup was simple without even looking at the manual; I run my machine wireless network for several computers. The wireless range is very good, and there's very little lag time. Cartridges are easy to change, and it lets you know ahead of time when they need to be changed. For a variety of print jobs, I buy the cartridge sets that include 2 black cartridges. I know for a fact that Brother printers are durable workhorses; I've been running a DW2270 mono laser for three years and never had a single problem. On the negative side, this machine won't make legal size copies, there's no duplex printing, and the cartridges that come with the machine only have a "token" amount of toner, but I think all printer manufacturers are doing that now. I've been using various all-in-one printers ever since lasers became popular, and this is by far the best I've used. Compared to what they once cost, and even what's available today, this machine's a real bargain. Highly recommended for anybody who needs an uncomplicated, reliable color printer that produces excellent copies without breaking the bank.

Brother Printer Is The Best Printer I've Ever Used

This is my first laser printer and so far I am surprisingly satisfied with this printer. I've been using inkjet printer for many years and when I finally got tired of its constant breaking down and paper jam and ink problems...I decided to shop for Laser. And after inquiring with all my resources, colleagues, and friends, they all told me to get the Brother and don't look anywhere else (I'm one of those ppl that I hate studying about the specs and spending my time comparing different brands, just tell me the exact product to get and I'll take your word for it!). I bought the MFC9130 because I wanted a color printer with multi-function but I was afraid of spending too much on an even higher model since this is my very first laser printer. So far the printer has been printing and copying and scanning for me completely perfect and seamless, the experience really is much better compared to all my inkjet printers. I especially wanted to point out that their phone customer support has been very helpful to me. I had trouble setting up the printer to print wirelessly and I immediately called their support number and within five minutes I got to speak with a live person that is actually located in the states. They guided me all the way through the end until I could start printing on both my Windows PC and iMac computer. I was never able to get this kind of support from any of the other printer companies, and btw the customer support from Brother is free for the lifetime of your purchased product. I really wished I could've known about Brother a few years earlier. I've always had more trust in a product when I know it's made from a Japanese company, so I guess this product has proven that to me once again. (I would like to point out that I'm writing this review completely on my own desire. I am not getting any compensation from Brother or any other companies to write this. I might sound a little excited but it's all because of the experience I've had so far with this printer, it's made my office work so much easier and most important seamless)

Good but not great

Prints are Ok. However the printer does not do well with heavier paper. PAper over 20 lbs curls and has to be manually removed. Haven't tried card stock but I will bet big problems
