Durable and Attractive Notebook Transportation

The SwissGear IBEX GA-7316-06F00 Carrying Case (Backpack) for 17" Notebook - Blue, I purchased to carry my ENVY17 is excellent protection and portability in a smart-looking package. In addition to the heavily padded compartment for my notebook, there are several other pockets for computer accessories, books and papers, pens, candy bars and cup cakes. And finally there are two mesh baskets, one on either side, to carry water, sport drinks or beer. The exterior design, materials, zippers, straps and carry handle are easy care, durable, comfortable and good looking.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Strong but a little tight

After 5 years, my old Targus PC Backpack is pretty worn out so while buying a new PC, I bought this pack offered on the HP website. It is well-built with lots of pockets. It is a little smaller than my old one and the HP 17.3 Envy just barely fits. So far, a good pack.

SwissGear Backpack for 17" Notebook

This is a great bag with lots of convenient pockets including a separate padded section for the laptop. This is the second SwissGear backpack that I have bought. I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident (truck pulled a U-turn in my face) and the paramedics cut the bag and all of my clothing off me. However, the laptop survived as did the rest of the contents. I did not hesitate to buy another SwissGear backpack to replace it.

Great Backpack

I love this backpack, it is a great buy and I would definitely recommend it to others. I have an Asus G73 and it is incredibly hard to find anything that this behemoth will fit it, but it fits comfortable into this Swissgear back. So if you have an over-sized laptop or just want a lot of storage space (and pockets, lots and lots of pockets) this is the one for you.

What a Great Buy!

After a short delay due to being out of stock, I ordered this backpack. After I received it and started loading my laptop, pen tablet, external hard drive, embroidery card reader, and all the related accessories and power cords, I loved it all over again! Everything is all in one nice neat package. I even have room for my planner, a notebook, and a healthy snack! (Sorry, there's not enough room for the kitchen sink, but pretty close!) My nephew, a computer technologist at a major company, told me "You'd better watch your backpack carefully! I might have to steal it! It's my dream backpack!" Made me feel like I'd hit the jackpot! Thanks again for a great product!

Good Strong Backpack

This backpack is very sturdy and has good reinforcement. I have used several backpacks and none have had this level of reinforcement. I strongly recommend this backpack for anyone who requires or wants a sturdy reinforced backpack for their laptop.

Not for 17" notebooks

My HP 17" notebook stuck about 1.5 inches above the protective material, with the top edge of the computer, and especially the corners, pressing against the zipper when the compartment was zipped shut. I have traveled across the States and to Europe twice a year for almost 20 years. This computer would not be protected from the many "hazards" that are part of a normal trip. Such as rolling top first off of a car seat onto the floor when the car needed to make a sudden stop; being pushed off a conveyor belt during airport security check; slipping off my shoulder when bumped in congested areas; having to be checked at the gate because the small plane was full and watching baggage workers tossing it onto a cart, etc. The Targus sold by HP is a perfect fit. The SwissGear is well made, but not for a 17" monitor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

first laptop recently purchased and i needed a bag that was able to handle the rigors of construction trades. so far this bag is solid. good size, nice features, handles on top are great, straps are comfortable. this should take plenty of travel in and out of trucks and job sites with no problem.
