Panamax M5300 PM is essential not only for protection but for providing significantly excellent video quality out of the 4K TV and blu ray player. I have a 75-inch Sony 940D and an Oppo UDP-203 player. It also provided very good sound reproduction from the Oppo player.
I highly recommend this product if you have a 75-inch TV and a 4K blu ray player, it makes a significant difference.
By the way, this is my second Panamax M5300 PM. I bought the first one at Magnolia in 2010.

I previously was getting by with standard surge protectors. The wires were a mess. Upgrading to the panamax made cable management much cleaner with things coming to a shelf in the rack. Especially with some equipment needing right angles or transformer blocks, it's hard to get everything in, but cube-style adapters help.
I love the voltage read-out. I can see the voltage dip when the amps turn on from the 12V triggers. Sometimes down to 114V but always ok.
I definitely do not need the rotatable lighting of the MR4300 but it's a nifty bell whistle that real rack-mounters (instead of shelvers) might like.

Fancy Surge Protector

This is a nice power conditioner and does what it is supposed to...protect against power surges. I upgraded from an old Belkin power conditioner for my entertainment center and it has been doing a great job. It is non-sacrificial, bas a great informative display and powers off and on by itself. It has plenty of outlets for my Samsung 65KS9800 TV, Denon X4300H receiver, SVS subwoofer, Fire TV, 4K Bluray player, Velop node, ethernet switch, and some other components and I love the way the outlets are spaced out. We have had a few surges, outages and brownouts this year, including one that fried a hardwired PTAC unit but this has withstood the test so far. Full disclosure - I paid significantly less than the MSRP during a sale Panamax was running. At the full price, I would have hoped for voltage regulation but, at the discounted price, I am happy with my fancy surge protector.
Whether it actually improves sound quality is debatable...that is not why I bought it (nor did I notice any change from my old Belkin conditioner). I wanted something to help protect my investment and so far it is doing its job. Only time will tell...
