Purchased this to replace my old, but still fuctional, Monster power strip. (I relocated its use elsewhere) The Panamax is sleek and fits nicely side by side with other home theater components. It's light weight and each of the rear outlets are spaced far enough that it doesn't get cumbersome to connect all my cables. Not sure about connecting large box type plug-ins, but most of those should be phased out by now. It remains cool to the touch even when placed in an enclosed cabinet as i have it. Why four stars? Well it would be nice if you can dial down how bright the LED lights are. It's not an issue for me since it's in a cabinet but for others who may have it out in the open i can see how it can get annoying if you're trying to watch a movie in the dark. And the final reason i gave it four stars? Well its one i don't want to happen, but i guess it will happen eventually is how it will perform during an actual power surge. The controlled tests I've viewed online is one thing, but a real lighting storm creating multiple surges during a storm is another. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works as it's supposed to. Also, i took advantage of the killer sale price at the time. I'm definitely happy with my purchase and highly recommend it, especially at the price point BB had it listed for.

The only issue I have is the fact you can only dim the panel, but not turn it off. Other than that, power is very stable and my system seems to be running better than before.

This is my second Panamax M5300 unit and they are well worth the money (especially on sale). Despite power surges and storms, I've had no issues with either unit and I can hear a difference in sound quality and slight difference in picture quality (especially on my 65" 4K TV). I'm hoping the unit I purchased last month will avoid DVR failures in my family room setup (previously lost 3 DVR's in ~5 years due to power surges/dips). I really think the staged approach for powering up audio/video equipment really makes a difference too.

I purchased this item as a replacement for a no frills surge protector when I upgraded my home theater. It is a nice looking unit and fits well with my other equipment. I looked at other surge protector/power conditioners and I chose this based on it's features and reviews. The only issue I have with it, is that you can dim the lights in the front, but they only get to medium dim and then they turn off. I really like the look of the volt meters, but even at the lowest setting, they are too bright. I usually leave them off, but it doesn't look as nice aesthetically. The unit gives you a number of outlets, but you will still need a power strip for bulky plugs. It appears to do what it says, but I haven't done any tests to be sure. Overall, it is a nice piece and I would recommend it.

Positives: Built well, looks high quality and the meters are not only cool but look tasteful and high end. I am not sure if it is my imagination or reality but the 80 inch Sharp TV I have seems even more vibrant and crisp since installing it. I have a Yamaha RX1060 Receiver, sharp TV, definitive technologies 9040 floor and center channel speakers a dish receiver and a Sony DVD plugged into it.
Negative: could use 4 hi amp plugs instead of just two and in my opinion at full price it is a bit too much. I bought it at 20 percent off and at that price it seemed in the world of reality.
