I bought this for my daughter and she has used it maybe 5 times in one year and it doesn't read the disk. Do not buy.

Do not buy this product. I bought this after product twice. The first one lasted a couple of months and then broke, the second one is now broke again. Waste of money. Never have luck with Philips products. Terrible quality. Am going to try a different brand!

What's great about it: It is portable
What's not so great: Only lasted 6mo
I would not buy this DVD player. I got it for my 3yo for long trips, we used it 2 times in 6mo and half way through the ride it stopped reading DVD's. It still reads music CD's but not movies.. Not worth the money for 2 uses and 6mo.

A great Christmas gift for my 2yr old at the time. Unit lasted almost a yr now only plays music CDs. Reads NO DISC for movies.

I was given this as a christmas gift from my step-dad and I absolutely loved it! It is so cute and and small. I am 28 years old and I take very good care of my things. I used it several times on car rides and then it suddenly stopped working saying NO DISC even though there is one in there. Don't waste your money and look for one that has a better life span. I literally used it half a dozen times. Horrible Product. also the sound is very very soft.

What's great about it: Cute color, light weight/portable, durable
What's not so great: Good picture, but screen has to be angled directly toward your eyes to see it.
I have used this DVD player almost every day since purchase, therefore the battery has been recharged hundreds of times and still maintains 2 hours of playback. This unit travels well-- disc does not skip when player is in car, etc. I recently connected the AV cables to my LCD TV to play a rented movie and the picture was quite clear. The AC adapter has a nice feature: When unit is still charging there is a small red light that stays on. When the unit is fully charged, the red light is off. This unit is really best used for one person at a time, as 7 inch screen is small and must be at a certain angle to see picture at optimal clarity.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We purchased this for my daughter so my son could have her old one. It worked for about a year. The sad news is the other one is running great (Over four years old). It is a no-name brand and being thrown around by a 4 year old like a football. I would expect more from a Phillips product. DO NOT BUY. With this lack of quality. I doubt I will ever by another Phillips product again.

I bought this around Mothers Day and it has had constant use. We've had one movie that didn't want to read (said no disc) but worked after cleaning rented disc. At one point, we were getting a line through the screen but not sure if it was the movie or the player. It has fallen in the car floor twice when I hit the breaks so some kind of mount would be a good idea. Otherwise, we have absolutely loved this product!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: short life!
We have two small children, they are very good with following instructions, and never mistreated the machine. After about 6 months of very RARE use, it just stopped, in the middle of a road trip! We only used it on plane rides and long road trips. It would play for a few minutes and then die again. We have now gone through 2 of these. We only got the second one because it was a free replacement for the first. We will not be getting a third. Go with another player.

What's great about it: The fashionably cool PINK color of the dvd player & audio
What's not so great: unreliable if you want it to last long (b4 it breaks)
Bought this dvd player about 1 year ago & I have a 4 year old. She LOVES to push buttons & mess with the volume up & down. Surprizingly it did ok.... for 3 months, then the display went weird. Everything we watched was RED and there isn't a dial or menu setting to change it. A few weeks ago I accidentally dropped it & now only the sound works, the display is all white.
I'm tired of buying a new dvd player every year! UGH! I'd like to get that kid tough one from Fisher Price, but the display screen is so small... anyways, I don't recommend this dvd player. It won't last if you have children under 7 or 8 handling it.

Do Not buy this product. I wish I would have read the reviews first. I bought this for my mom for Christmas last year tha was only 5 months ago. After just 3 month it stopped working and said can not read disk. Even after buying a disk cleaner it still will not work.

The DVD player is only used in the car. After about 9 months it quit working the service plan cost half the price of the DVD Player so we did not purchase it. It was a very bad choice!

What's great about it: Like another user said, worked great for about 6-9 months, then DIED!
What's not so great: Stopped working, claimed "NO DISC" when there was a disc loaded
Don't waste your money! We bought this one only to have it malfunction in the first 12 months, Philips did replace it since it was within warranty but instead of the cute pink one, we got a refurbished white one. The replacement player also only worked for about 9 months and then it died for the same reason! Philips customer service won't do anything now since it's out of warranty! I would NEVER buy this brand again!

What's great about it: Durable, affordable
My husband and I bought this for our 3 year old daughter last November after she broke her $250 Panasonic DVD player after two months use. We decided on this because it was pink and affordable (meaning we could buy another one if it broke). To much of our surprise, it has lasted through the first year with no problems whatsoever! I want to mention that it has been operated solely by my daughter, so it definitely gets 5 stars for durability. No problems with the volume (it's loud; we constantly have to tell her to turn it down); the battery life lasts the entire length of her disney movies-about 2 hours); and it plays without skipping. We plan on buying another one for our youngest daughter when she turns 2. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

The battery did not last 4 months which was extremely disappointing since I bought it for air travel. The screen resolution was mediocre and the sound was so weak that I always had to use headphones.

What's not so great: Cheaply made - kind of loud when DVD is playing/spinning
I received this free with a purchase. I could tell right away with its light weight that it was definitely not in the same league as my Sony portable DVD player. The remote control that comes with it doesn't control the volume. On the up side, it has been reliable for the last few months I've had it. It serves as a backup to my Sony. The only downside is the sound it makes when the DVD is spinning. It's not super loud but it is obvious.
