Horror fan here. I saw this movie years ago, probably on VHS as a kid. I enjoyed this space odyssey (perfect name) even more now after all these years. A sci-fi horror I would characterize now. I don't fully understand it, but it is enjoyable and unique. My disk had trouble in one scene, but I got through it. I recommend this movie to any cinephile or Stanley Kubrick fan. Everybody knows the scene I reference in my title.

I only need to tell you that the brilliance and experience of viewing the film is light-years more awe-inspiring and jaw-dropping by viewing it in 4K. This is a very worthwhile purchase.

2001 is amazing in 4K

The sound and picture are both phenomenal. I wish this much care could go into making 4K transfers of older movies. Right at the beginning, the senses are blasted with the amazing Dolby Audio soundtrack. And wait till you see the inside of the spaceships. No other version of 2001 has looked this good.
