I bought this about an hour ago. I decided to vacuum my 1 year old daughters room first. I am a complete neat freak when it comes to keeping my daughters room clean. I vacuumed her room just yesterday with my other vacuum, and after I finished today, I already need to empty out the canister. This product is amazing. I cant wait to see what the other rooms in my house are going to look like when I am done. I'm not one for going out and buying something because of the ratings people give it, but I am sure glad I decided to this time!!
What's great about it: Best Vacuum on the market
What's not so great: None
I would recommend this to a friend!

A must-have for pet owners

The Pet Hair Eraser vacuum is a champ, pure and simple! We use the pet turbo tool to clean the stairs after our Shetland sheepdog and my daughter's cat are done romping through the house. This tool picks up pet hair and dander that are deep in the carpet, so our 7-year old carpet looks a little newer and a lot cleaner. Other attachments work equally well, with no loss of suction--something I would have expected from a more expensive upright. At this price, the Pet Hair Eraser is a bargain.
I also like the fact that Bissell is committed to promoting pet welfare through adoption--cats, dogs, horses, birds and other critters.
What's great about it: A great vacuum for a very competitive price
What's not so great: Self-propelled in future models would be great
I would recommend this to a friend!

It Really Does Work

I just bought mine. I had gone quite a while with a barely working vacuum cleaner. I thought I just had bad carpet. Then one day I hired a cleaning service and she brought her own vacuum, which was a commercial model. I couldn't believe the difference. I was planning to buy a commercial grade machine until I read all the reviews for this one. I went right out and bought it, and truly, it is wonderful.
I love the long, low snout because it reaches under and into areas that shorter, higher profile models won't get unless you move furniture, however, the hair lifter did get in the way some when it was in the off position for under lower spaces. It IS VERY LOUD, especially the hard floor cleaning feature, it really is a workout, even with the power boost, BUT it also REALLY WORKS! I was so happy I actually laughed out loud (LOL) when I finished my bedroom.
After I did the carpet without the pet hair lifter, I used the lifter, and it got more dirt and hair, and it fluffed up my carpets so much they looked new. I couldn't stop looking at them.
Things that would make it better: the cord should either be retractable, or in a different spot - it tends to get in the way; the noise is a bit alarming, so quieter would be a plus, but I prefer noisy and good to quiet and useless; if the hair lifter could actually slide completely flat somehow, it would make it easier to clean under the counters in the kitchen - sitting on top as it does makes it a tad too high to get under the edge there. The dirt cannister is a bit messy - easy to empty, but it's on the small side, and if you don't notice it filling up, (which it does amazingly quickly), it does spill out. I've never had a vacuum that has really great edging ability, and this one isn't great, but it is acceptable. At least it does get the edges a bit, and the cleaning power makes up for that small issue.
I find myself becoming a little obsessed with it, and I want to keep vacuuming until nothing more comes up, but that's not such a bad thing, right???
Overall, I would definitely buy it again, and I would definitely recommend it.
What's great about it: Really great suction, several suction choices, power assist, dirt canister changes easily
What's not so great: It is a bit heavy, cord gets in the way, needs pick-up handle, pet hair lifter can get in the way
I would recommend this to a friend!

Crazy suction

The only thing that would make this Bad boy better is if they gave it away .......I got a new puppie on saturday so I used my old vac to do a major vacuuming under every thing, a better than your normal vacuuming then it konked out......so on monday I got the NEW "BISSEL" vacuumed again......What a difference.....I mean this thing picked up what looked like micro dust and hair that the old one just didnt. I think the dirt cup on it is easy to use .....I would recommend tapping on the cannister before opening it....just to knock all the dust down into the cup......
What's great about it: It's all good,powerful,super cleans carpet,long cord
What's not so great: I think tapping on the cannister b4 opening it would help to knock all the dust down into the cup

This product is great. We have had the vacuum for about 3 months and it still picks up tons of pet hair. The vacuum is very heavy but it is worth it.
What's great about it: Picks up more dirt then you would think
What's not so great: Very heavy and not cordless
I would recommend this to a friend!

I returned this vacuum today after 6 weeks of trying to make it work well. I tired different settings, as well as elevating and lowering the arm at the front of the vacuum. I found that this vacuum left balls of carpet fuzz and pet hair everywhere. I then had to crawl around on my hands and knees picking these up. I don't recommend this vacuum if you have cats, as I do. I vacuum frequently, so this was not due to an unusual amount of pet hair. Because I did not return it within 30 days, I was given a store credit. If you decide to try this machine, make sure it works for you within the time frame allowed for returns. Good luck.
What's great about it: easy to empty
What's not so great: left balls of carpet fuzz everywhere
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I read earlier reviews before deciding to buy this and Im glad I did. This is the best vacuum ever! I recommend this vacuum to people even without pets. The suction is so powerful it picks up EVERYTHING. I have a Jack Russell and there is dog hair everywhere! On my first try with this vacuum, it sucked up an entire canister of dog hair I didnt see with my old vacuum. My dogs bed is full of dog hair I could never get up. I tried the old vacuum, a dog brush, and washing it. Nothing worked until this vacuum. The suction power is really that great on picking up dog hair. I am very impressed, it was worht every dollar. The only thing the vacuum is a little heavy, but most vacuums are anyway. I really dont have any cons, besides I cant wait for a combo pet eraser vacuum and shampoo-er!
What's great about it: Lots of attachments, great suction power & HEPA filter
What's not so great: A little heavy, but most good vacuums are

Not the best design

We purchased this vac as a second unit while our other unit was in the shop (after 5 years of no trouble). We have three dogs and three cats and vacuum about 3-4 times a week so the vac gets a good workout. Initially we were pleased with this unit's peformance but several design issues came up.
- The cord is located very low on the machine so you step on it or run over it often. The cord has actually worn in several places from being run over and we've only had it a month. We've never had that issue with any other vac we've owned.
- The dust container is small and does not handle much volume so you empty it often. Dust tends to stick really bad to the plastic material of the container. Pet hair collected tends to hang up in the space above the dust collection cup and it is a pain to clean out unless you have really small hands.
- Cleaning the dirt out of the vac invariably spills dust when opening it up no matter how careful you are. Nothing like having to use another vac to clean this one.
My recommendation: purchase a higher end unit. Our older vac is a higher end bagless and it works great. The better designs are worth it.
What's great about it: Good attachment features
What's not so great: Messy, small dirt container, poor cord location
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
