I did lots of research before purchasing this new vacuum. I have a cat and two dogs that shed. Suffice it to say that when I got this home and started cleaning that I could not STOP. I had just vacuumed a few days before and in less than five minutes of vacuuming one room I had to empty the cannister and could visually see an amazing difference in my carpet, area rugs and hardwood floors! I cleaned for HOURS and used all attachments - doing lampshades, baseboards, stairs, furniture. I thought my house was relatively clean obviously that was not the case. I had a very expensive vacuum before but I've never seen anything pick up pet hair like this before. I have about a 3000 sq. foot house and I could not believe my eyes when I had filled up an entire large garbage bag with pet hair when I thought my surfaces were already relatively "clean". I highly recommend this product to anyone with animals that shed!

We have two dogs and two cats and they all shed. We had a bag vac before and we would have to put up with the gross bags full of hair and the "pet smell" that would linger in the bag. We didn't want to pay $400 or $500 for a vac, so I did some investigating online. Don't spend a ton of money for a Dyson when $150.00 will get you this machine. We love it!
What's great about it: Picks up pet hair and dander like a magnet. Fairly quiet.
What's not so great: Cord and hose can be bulky, but when you see what it picks up you can live with it.

I bought this vacuum based on the reviews of this site, and I am so glad I did! When I got there, they were out of stock! Luckily, their truck just arrived with a brand new shipment.
I tried the Healthy Home vacuum in the store and it didn't suck up anything! Then I tried the pet hair eraser model on Best Buy's rug and it made it look brand new!
I assembled it myself and read the instructions within an hour. Then I used it and also had to empty the container after finishing with just one room because there was so much hair our 8 year old (now dead) hoover vacuum didn't suck up. I'm not fond of bagless vacuum's however. I do not want to deal with the dirt after it's been sucked up. Everything seems to be bagless these days and this vacuum's bagless container and emptying is not too bad. If it causes a mess, I just vacuum it up. I also find that I have to vacuum the vacuum afterwards because of all the hair/dirt we had.
The tools are awesome! The turbo tool is a little tough popping it out, but I used it on my couch and my couch is admittedly a different color! (as in the pet hair is gone) The other flexible/rubber type tool is great for curtains, stairs and those in between crevices on my chair cushion button holes (where cat hair collects).
The best part was we got this vacuum for it's advertised price at the time (around $150) and then we bought the one year warranty for an extra $20 and it still was less expensive than the other models.
I don't really do reviews, but I had to come on here and thank others for their reviews so that I could do my homework before going out and buying one.
What's great about it: suction, tools
What's not so great: bagless is always messy, a little loud, heavier

We had an old Electrolux that had seen better days, so we purchased a Dirt Devil as a replacement last year. We were disappointed in the noise level, the dust all over the outside of the machine, and the time it took to empty the canister. When our daughter broke it by placing the wet filter media back in the unit and turning it on, we were not upset. Finding ourselves needing a new vacuum and based on the other reviews, we decided that this Bissell might be a good bet. It certainly is a terrific machine. We have two cats in the house and this picks up everything off the floor. It is much more solidly built, less noisy, and easier to clean than the first bagless vacuum we purchased. This one looks to be a real keeper.
What's great about it: Easy to clean dirt canister

Recently my old Eureka went and died on me so I decided to do my research and buy a new top of the line model. I was about to shell out the dough for a Dyson until I read all the reviews for the Bissell pet hair eraser. I decided to take a chance and man was it worth it!! I was able to vacuum my entire home without unplugging once and got all the stubborn pet hair out of all the nooks and crannies! My carpets look like new. I was really disturbed at how many times I had to empty the canister since I thought my house was clean. I can't believe the stuff that was lurking in my carpet! I am in love with my vacuum and I hope my husband doesn't get jealous!!
What's great about it: Cleaned my whole home without unplugging once!

As others have mentioned, this vacuum WILL clean your carpet. You'll be amazed how much it picks up. For a point of reference, I have been using a Hoover Wind Tunnel for the last seven years or so. I want to say right off, that contrary to what some others have posted in their review, I didn't find the vacuum to be too loud at all. It rolls very easy and has a nice, long cord. I want to say again, it really sucks up the dirt and carpet fibers. It is nearly perfect. The things that kept me from giving it five stars are: The cup that holds the vacuumed material is pretty small; I had to dump it five or six times during the vacuuming of my 1500 square foot house. I'm hoping that number will decrease after I have used a few times and brought my carpet up to snuff. The other thing about the cup is that it is open on top, so I found that I needed to jiggle the cup a little before removing it to dump, in order to get the loose material in the cyclone to fall into the cup instead of on the cup seat. Also, the hose doesn't sit in the side holder as snugly as I would like. The hose kind of dangles at the bottom, but never came out of the holder. Finally, the vacuum is s bit top-heavy, so because of the location of the electrical cord, be careful when pulling it behind you when using the hose/wand. It will be prone to falling over. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from buying this vacuum, because as I said, it really does it's job well, and that's what is most important to me.
What's great about it: This vacuum really picks up the dirt, moderately priced

I read a lot of reviews about this vacuum before purchasing and kept reading the same thing...that it is heavy. It is heavy but it isn't like you are going to be carrying it around so I don't understand that problem. Pushing it is no big deal. It really, really gets the pet hair, dainder and everything else out of your carpet and furniture. I was amazed the first time I used it how much it picked up.
What's great about it: Really picks up the pet hair on carpet and furniture
What's not so great: The mess of cleaning filters and containers

Like others have said, I vacuum alot and I was amazed at how much dirt came up the first time I used this vacuum. It was very easy to assemble, I got it done in about 10 minutes, including having the dogs checking out the new "toy." What a great price too, I had been looking at the Dyson, but I couldn't justify spending that kind of money. This vacuum does the job for a fraction of the cost.
