This is my 6th bagless vacuum and my favorite! I tend to replace vacuums about every year or so, because they do not live up to my expectations. So far this one has been fantastic! My husband keeps asking me if I shampooed the carpets and I say No, just used the Pet Eraser. This has an amazing ability to pick up hair & dirt. The dirt cup is not small in comparison to other bagless vacs that I have used. It is not too heavy for me to carry up and down steps. I do feel that the placement of the cord is a little low and I end up holding the cord in my free hand to keep from running over it. I seem to have some difficulty getting the curved wand back into it's correct place, but that could just be me. I wish that the rotator head shut off when i'm using the attachements & lay the vacuum down so that the beater brush doesn't continue to run in one spot. Overall, I love this vacuum and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great vacuum @ a fair price. I had considered buying one of those really expensive ones, but after comparing the reviews, couldn't justify spending that much on a vacuum and am glad that I bought this one.
What's great about it: Cleaning ability
What's not so great: Cord placement /Curved wand /No beater brush shut off

I love this Vacuum, I went to use it for the first time and was suprised at first by the suction.. I didnt like that it wasent picking up much when I turned on the power button, however the button next to it I pressed and WOW let me tell you the power on the Vacuum was nuts! It sucked up the hair on not only the carpeting but the rugs as well, than I used it to clean my hardwood floors and it cleaned the corners and everything!!! Cleaning the stairs was a breeze to because the item detached from the base (on a side not the item that did detach was a bit okward and heavy) the turbo brush worked very well (but it did stop circulating at times due to it getting clogged) Overall this is a great vacuum and I am glad we bought this product.
What's great about it: Wondeful Suction, Picks up what my old Vacuum couldnt

After buying this vacuum the belt broke after the second time I used it. I replaced it only to have it happend again a few weeks later. I have one small cat and a husband with allergies. This vacuum has no sucking power. After maybe a year the motor died on it...A waste of money!!! I'm now looking for another vacuum but it definitely wont be a Bissell!!
What's not so great: belt broke a few times , the motor died after a year, it had no sucking power......

This is a very impressive vacuum. On the first use, I was startled (and a little disturbed) by the amount of filth it sucked out of my supposedly-clean rugs. I have three cats, and the pet-hair attachments really do what they're supposed to. The design is good and the attachments are easy to get at and use. The dirt container is much easier to empty and clean than the one on my old vacuum... of course there's still a fair amount of dust involved in the process but nothing like having a filter that needed to be tapped clean each time!
Assembling the vacuum was pretty simple, there is one tricky screw in there but nothing I couldn't handle... although it would've been MUCH harder without a magnetic screwdriver.
Only downside is the weight; it's over 20lb and not easy to lift. I have a very small house so this isn't an issue for me, but could be for an elderly person or anyone who has to haul it up and down stairs. The weight is not an issue when pushing it... while it's not self-propelled, the motorized brush roll gives it a very noticeable assist.
I didn't give five stars across the board because the turbo-brush seems to have stopped working. It still picks up but the brush roll doesn't turn. However I think there may just be some string wrapped around something so I will withhold judgment until I have a chance to take it apart and investigate.
Overall I am very pleased with this product and would definitely recommend it to anyone who has pets that shed!
What's great about it: Really sucks up the cat hair!

Because I didn't want to spend 3-4 times what I spent on the Bissell Pet Hair eraser, I went ahead and purchased it. The saying "you get what you pay for" is really accurate for this purchase. The vacuum is top heavy which makes your arm really tired after just a short time of vacuuming. The machine does seem to have pretty good suction, but when it's time to empty the canister the dust/dirt/hair flies everywhere and you and the machine are dirty and hard to get clean. The on/off switch is on the front unlike many vacuums where you can use a foot switch. This is awkward and just another step in the process to a job that we all want to be easier not more difficult. The attachments are plastic and don't fit in their designated storage spots very well. While vacuuming, a couple just kept falling out. If I hadn't already put this machine together and used it I would return it and spend the extra $ for something easier to use and more efficient.
What's great about it: Low price, lots of suction
What's not so great: top heavy, cheap plastic parts, very loud

We bought this vac to replace a 10 year old Hoover we were given. We recently adopted a puppy who sheds like crazy, and we needed a vac that could do the job and withstand the use. So far so good. It was also on sale at the time of purchase which only sweetened the deal.
Like I said, a bit heavy to haul up and down stairs, and the "pet claw" tool may not be the greatest, but it gets the job done. You still need to put some effort into cleaning, but that will never change.
What's great about it: Good buy, on sale, good features
What's not so great: Bit heavy, not the greatest tool power

I liove the look and performance of the machine. The assembly was a little tricky and the instructions lacked detail. Fortunately I am mechanically inclined and did assemble it correctly. It tips back easily so I would be concerned around kids and small pets as it is very heavy if it falls on them. All in all though I really like the performance and not having a bag to change. I am not sure how easy changing the filters will be this early in the game.
What's great about it: powerful and easy to empty
What's not so great: tips over easily (back heavy) and heavy to pick up
