A Fantastic Headset (however, problems with iOS 6)
on January 23, 2013

This product is perhaps the best headset I've used in a while.
Sound quality might knock your socks off, it is discrete, controls are great, the on and off button is extremely practical, it switches between devices (dual connectivity) smoothly, and just to make sure this stays very clear, sound quality is fantastic.
At the time of writing this review though, there is a catch. Owners of iOS devices version 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 with Bluetooth 4.0 might find themselves having serious connectivity issues.
Sound might cut, drop, lag, you name it.
This is something that several people are experiencing, and I later found out that it is not only with this particular device, so hopefully the manufacturer will fix that in a new release.
I won't post the link here, but if you google it you might find more information and if the problem has been solved.
I didn't mention the device, and perhaps most people having connectivity issues are also using those. I just don't want the review to be rejected again, but hopefully this will help others.
As a final note, I do not recommend buying these NOW, as there is that issue. If you do not have those devices, perhaps you're free from the problem and thus DO BUY it. As I said, it is one if not the best bluetooth headset I've used in a while, and I tried several as of recently.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Awesome idea - Terrible Execution
on December 4, 2012

I'm not sure how this got past the internal QA departments at LG.
I had the 700 for the longest time and it was great - sure it didn't have all the bells and whistles that this new headset has, but it sure did perform.
This one has feedback issues, people say I'm muffled or have buzzing noises going on. When the audio works, it's amazingly clear and punchy - but it almost NEVER works. Reception is horrible and susceptible to interference from any number of outside devices (microwave for example).
I'll be disappointed to admit defeat on this headset and return to the tried and true 700. I hope LG reads these and fixes this ASAP. This new headset had a lot of promise - showing the battery charge on my iphone for example, or allowing me to mute the ringer on the headset was awesome. But all worthless if the core functionality doesn't work.

MIC Cuts out frequently
on December 4, 2014

Worked fine for a few months. Now the microphone started dropping out every few minutes. Very frustrating when I am on conference calls! I have searched on the internet for solutions and it appears a lot of people are having the same issue on both android and Iphones!

Range is terrible

I bought the HBS 730 because I own a 700 and wanted the bettersound quality. B-u-t-t-t sound quality means nothing if the connection constantly drops out. With the phone in my pocket it will drop out when i walk. Better in the left pocket not so much the right.
I have gone back to my 700 it works 20 to 30 feet away.
LG should fix this. The 700 is great.

2 months and it's already broke

I've had this 2 months and it already broke. The on/off button just slides back and forth and doesn't allow me to actually choose one or the other anymore, so it won't actually turn off or on.

Poor range

The sound quality is a vast improvement over the hbs 700, however the bluetooth range is horrible. The audio from this device keeps cutting out less than 5 feet from the phone. If you cover either end of the headset the audio cuts out, if you turn your back on the phone the audio cuts out. I was hoping for a great improvement over the older model and the range of the device has left me disappointed. The bluetooth controls (play/ pause) and volume do not work well with my droid razr maxx also. The previous model worked excellent with controls and range. I do not recommend upgrading to this model until these defects are rectified.

Loved the HBS-700, but HBS-730 unusable with iOS

When paired with iOS device, the lowest volume setting is way too loud. I could not find a fix on the web, currently headset is not usable.

Not Compatible with iPhone
on March 6, 2015

LG HBS730 is great product, and makes life much easier. But it's just not compatible with the iPhone. I bought it to use it with my iPhone 6 and I found it's just too loud especially in applications like Viber, Skype, Tango and FaceTime. Even when I bring the volume in both phone and the headset all the way down, still loud, noisy and you can't mute it.
I called LG and they send me new one and it's still loud. I took it with my iPhone to Apple, they tried to play with the settings, but finally they said sorry it's just not compatible with the iPhone and you have to live with high volume if you want to use it.
I tried it with Note 4 and it's beautiful and you really can control the volume to the lowest and mute it.
So if you have an iPhone, forget about it and find you something else.
Thanks, and I hope this is helpful.
