This is a must have lens. I love the colors and the super fast & accurate auto focusing.
Pros: Fast auto-focus, Superior build quality, Super-sharp images, great color rendition

I have been wanting to expand my lens collection for quite some time now- before this, all I had was the 50mm 1.8. I am SO satisfied with this lens and would gladly buy it over and over again. Completely satisfied with the image quality, lens build, and delivery time. This focus's so fast and is so crisp. Would gladly buy this over and over again

VERY FAST FOCUSING.GREAT TRACKING LENS ALSO.STURDY ALSO.SUPER RESOLUTION WITH 1DS MARK3.85 MM.PERSPECTIVE IS GOOD FOR TAKING ANYWHERE.GREAT FOR WIDE F-STOP PORTRAITS.
Pros: Fast auto-focus, Superior build quality, Super-sharp images, pro image quality
Cons: lens is almost 2 light and short for eos1ds mark3

Sharpest lens I own (and I own a bunch!)

I bought this lens so long ago, I was still at the now closed morning paper. I was still shooting film, and digital cameras were in their infancy. This lens is so sharp I could count the pores in my subjects' faces!

Was gifted to me for a christmas present. Performs better than I expected for the affordable version. DOF is right where it needs to be, bokeh is just right, and it doesn't focus hunt on my 1Dmk3. .

A Great Hidden Value

A great lens on my 7D. I have had it about 5 months now and still think it is one of my best. I absolutely love the close-up images it produces of my grandchildren inside in available light. I especially like the control of DOF it provides. The bokeh at wider apertures is smooth and creamy. Although I have a few zoom lenses, I have found this lense, with just a 1.4 teleconverter, is often alot more useful at indoor events.
Pros: Fast auto-focus, Super-sharp images

Simple, No frills, Beautiful photography

Bought this new (from a different website) about two months ago. I already had a 35mm, a 100mm, and a zoom lens, but THIS? This 85mm? Prefect! And you don't have to think about it too long because it is not $$$$. The price is so affordable that even if you only use it for a few weeks it's worth it! I use it for baby photos and pictures of kids eating, running, playing--this stuff could easily go in a magazine, and I'm not even a professional!
