I already knew what the lens should do, as my son also has a Canon EF 85mm 1.8 and we both use 6D bodies. It came quickly from Canon and it works as expected and I can't detect any flaws.

Amazing Lens

This lens is truly a gem, very few products ( not just lenses but all product types IMH) ) offer the performance for Value this lens offers it's user.
I realize it is an older design and so on , but, it performs, flawlessly, every time.
I think one of the most important things for an artist to have is confidence, confidence in their abilities to capture their vision , and the equipment they use to to realize that vision. This lens is amazing Image quality is so close to the L glass I own that it makes it VERY hard to consider the faster 85 MM offerings ( although the new IS 85 1.4 seems incredible,it is more than 1200usd more of an investment )
I am a working portrait photographer that will occasionally ( very begrudgingly ) do weddings , this lens Is really a great event lens because it is a fast lens and will focus well in fairly low light you can create event portraits with it and I think that is killer, to be on the move and still get what feels like a studio shot is very cool.
I strongly believe that this should be the FIRST "real lens" a portrait photographer buys early on , The confidence you get from such sublime images can really get you excited to push your skills and truly explore
