I own all LG appliances but have had so many problems with the refrigerator. It is 7 years young and have have numerous issues that include: doors needing to be replaced, ice component stopped working, new compressor replaced and recently ice build up needing to be defrosted by technician. Dissatisfied because I bought the appliances keeping in mind the good reputation LG had. Too many issues in such a short period of time.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this fridge at the end of 2016. Worked great for the first couple of years. And then we started to have the dreaded "cooling events". We lost all of our food and it took two weeks to get a new compressor installed. The actual fix took 4 hours. For a year, it worked great again. Then we came home from vacation to a an entire fridge and freezer full of spoiled food. This time we were out of warranty, though LG kindly made an exception and had a repair person to the house. The newish compressor caused the condenser to not work. Thankfully the repair person had the part and installed in less than an hour. All fine again. I do love the way it fits and looks in the kitchen, though we've lost a lot of faith and, more importantly, food. Not the LG that I had come to love previously.

Loved the ability to segment food in different areas very functional. Unfortunately from the get go there was a need to replace the compressor, then in year 2 the fan, in year 4 the unit was not holding temperatures below 40F. It was working around 45-50F. It triggered a warranty replacement. Right now we are in the process of replacing for another unit unfortunately what we paid doesn’t cover current prices for a similar unit.

What a piece of crap! The compressor, exchange and had to be replaced after 4.5 years of service. My last Refridgrator lasted over 30 years and still worked when I gave it away. The technician came to my house replaced everything, of course after 5 years it would have been at my expense. I’ll never by another one.

Please do not buy this fridge. My compressor broke 2 times (once under warranty and once without). Looks like there is a class action suit against this version.

I bought this unit in June of 2016 and it worked flawlessly until two weeks ago, when the freezer section broke down. I was told by LG that a warranty replacement compressor unit would be shipped soon, but do date I have received nothing. My rating reflects this slow response but it may change if the problem is resolved quickly.
