Compressor died twice in three years.

I don't normally write reviews but people need to be informed before buying this refrigerator. We paid over $3000 for it at Lowes only to have the compressor die within one year. Luckily, we had a second refrigerator in the garage that we could use to save most of the food but there was still a lot off meat and seafood thrown away. On a positive note, LG fixed it parts and labor for free so, after a week of inconvenience, we were back up and running. That was last September. 10 months later (July), the compressor has died a second time and the temperatures are again averaging ~66 in the refrigerator and 45 in the freezer. LG will come out in a week to fix it, hopefully honoring their five year parts and labor warranty but in three years, we'll be on the hook to pay about $500 labor each time it fails. In eight years it will be closer to $1000 for parts and labor. I'm a do-it-yourself guy but this repair appears beyond what a homeowner can do.
Looking online, this appears to be a very common complaint.
So... positives: The refrigerator does look amazing and we actually do get lots of compliments about it. It's organized well and the middle drawer is fantastic. LG has honored their parts and labor warranty so far.
Negatives: The compressor has failed every year so far and the warranty won't cover labor after five years.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Refrigerator I ever had

After exchanging, the 1st one we got the chill drawer was hard to pull and push in and the fridge doors would not shut properly--although we were informed the service men did not install properly--the 2nd one has been GREAT. No problems! Absolutely LOVE the chill drawer. So easy and do not have to open up entire fridge for a water/juice/pop. My husband loves. Also love the door in door. So convenient. Inside of fridge is HUGE. Perfect size for all our food. We had a side by side fridge before that did not fit anything. Also freezer decent size and like the pull out drawer for pizza. The water dispenser goes slow but still ok.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After i change the new water filter and Air filter and reseted. the fan did not work.the technician order fans two times, it did working also. E and rF disply on the control panal 2.5 hors after i tern on and off the power.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this refrigerator in January and due to a major kitchen renovation, did not use the appliance until September. After 3 weeks of use, I have an error message that the flow of cold air is restricted and I am responsible to fully unload, unplug with doors open and leave that way for 8 hours. Then I have to put everything back and wait to see if that is the fix. Customer No-Service made it clear this is an issue with this refrigerator and will not send a technician until I have gone through this exercise. Ridiculous and makes me wish I purchased another brand

The custom chill drawer doesn't freeze items.

The description of the custom chill drawer states that it can be used as a refrigerator or freezer with the four temperature settings. This is not true. The lowest setting is 29 degrees F. This is much higher than the freezer compartment and all of my frozen items have defrosted in this custom chill drawer. Also, this refrigerator states that it is counter depth, but upon receiving it there are large hinge covers on the top preventing the refrigerator from sliding into counter depth. Can these be removed? The installers did not even mention removing these. Many calls to LG by Sears and still no answers.

The counter depth fits in our kitchen space perfectly and we can easily store and find all of the items we use. No more lost containers in the back shelf and the separate drawer is the perfect location to put a bottle of wine!

Not to mention I also have a washer and dryer that are LG products I will never buy LG again. Even the washer and dryer had to be repaired within two to three years of purchase. Never again!!!

Love, love, love my new refrigerator

I bought this 4 door refrigerator in the black diamond series and love its look and functionality. Ice maker and water dispenser are great. I keep my frequently used items in the deli drawer limiting the need to open the full refrigerator. All good!!
