[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this refrigerator just a little over 5 years ago. Loved it! However, we started to think that the ice cream was a bit softer than it should be. Then it quit cooling altogether. I called and a service person was two and a half weeks out! We had to buy a small "interim" fridge to get us through. Come to find out the compressor went out--after only 5 years. According to the serviceman, the compressors in these fridges are absolute junk and it's an issue that LG knows about. He said he spends most of his days replacing these compressors. Wish I had known that prior to purchasing the refrigerator

Very disappointed

I bought this and within 5 years it quit cooling. I was totally in love with my purchase and was very disappointed when the compressor stop working.

We were disappointed that the compressor gave up the ghost after less than five years, but it was replaced under warranty with a better quality compressor. A refrigerator like this should last for many decades with little or no trouble.
