This is right up there with Reasonable Doubt. The songs with Marvin Gaye and The Isley Brothers don't make no dayum sense. I can't stop playing the CD. I think the cd is going to melt in my car in my cd player. I have one in my car, on my computer and in my MP3 player. This is going down in history once again. There is no competition for the King of Hip Hop. N-O-B-O-D-Y. The only two that are in Hov's league are deceased. B.I.G and Pac hands down. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT. Real Rap music right here. THANKS HOVIE BABY

i saw the movie. then i heard the cd off a premier on a website. then i seen the jay-z perfomance on tv where he explained the tracks as he sang. i am a big jay-z fan but this isn't another classic. i will say that it is a good solid cd. i probably like about 3 songs on here. maybe it will grow on me. its good but not as good as some of the jay-z fanatics are saying. great deal for ten bucks though. i would say buy it!
What's great about it: its jay-z!
What's not so great: the whole cd based off the movie

Lyricism- 9/10 He's bringing us back as far as lyricism, to a NEAR- Reasonable Doubt, type of flow Production- 10/10 WOW, this is hands down the best produced Hip-Hop album since The Blueprint, in 2001 Subject Matter- 9/10 What did you expect, he's taking you back to the most honest time in his life...
What's great about it: Production, Subject Matter, Flow
What's not so great: On a few lines, his delivery was slow, but still made it up

My favorite songs are 3. American Dreamin', 6. Roc Boys (And The Winner Is)..., 9. Party Life - These songs are amazing. I would recomend this CD to anyone who loves real rap.
What's great about it: Great mix of different songs
What's not so great: Not all songs are created equal

This is nothing like Jay-Z earlier work.I Like what he did with Damon Dash.I think Jay's older albums stand taller than this one will. When people look back on his career in music they will refer to his older albums than to this one.The beats come off as someone in the studio hit a bunch of keys at once or something.Lyrics are to repetitive like he's done them before. And the title thanks for reminding us of Frank Lucas in the process of making this album. Not to diss Jay in anyway it's just that this album dosen't stand up to Reasonable Doubt,Hard Knock Life, and so on.
What's not so great: Beats,Lyrics,Title,Not classic Jay-Z album
