Very reliable

Purchased this model and have been very happy with it. It replaces a GE chest freezer that was used for over 50 years (handed down from Grandprents to parents to me). It comes with two baskets where most this size only have one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is good for over flow of my refrigerator/freezer. Allows me to purchase extra items on sale and prevents my having to go to supermarket as often.

Great little freezer

I purchased this in early summer to freeze things I was growing over the summer. I needed something compact and efficient and this is both. I'm happy with the purchase. The only problem is that it is not auto defrost and ice collects along the top of the freezer

Wish it had inside light

Purchased because first freezer died! Happy with size and adequate space with two storage baskets. Was surprised that frost formed quickly around upper edge. Otherwise happy so far but a light would be a good addition.

Perfect fit for our family

Freezer items are the way to go with our family and the freezer that we purchased was the perfect size for our basement. It's also so quiet that I forget that it's there!!!

Bought a GE FCM7 freezer in April 2003 in Houston and it's still running well.
I look forward to the same service with this unit. I notice my new purchase has no lock and no retaining grill over the compressor bulge inside the feezer. Disappointing! Hope nothing else has been cheapened such as compressor and related parts. Please comment.

Good price, but not reliable

This has worked great except after 22 months the thermostat has started to not function correctly. When the thermostat turns off because the freezer is cold enough, the compressor never comes on again and everything in my freezer melted. If I manually turn off the thermostat then back on, the compressor starts up. But then when cold enough it turns off and never comes back on again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
