There are just two of us, but we have a big garden! This freezer is just the right size and has given us no problem in the year we've owned it. Love my freezer!

A reliable small freezer

We bought this in a real hurry to replace a small upright freezer that had quit working with a load of food beginning to thaw. We only need a small freezer and we really liked the view and access that an upright provided, but there weren't any small uprights available and we needed a freezer fast! This freezer is a good size for us, not so large that we lose packages forever in the bottom, but big enough to supplement the very small freezer section of our refrigerator. It's nice having two hanging baskets for small items to keep them out of the depths of the chest. It would be really nice if there were plastic baskets (like milk cases) that would fit and stack in the bottom of the freezer. That is the one reason that we don't prefer a chest-style freezer, packages tend to get piled and difficult to see and find in the bottom. We are looking for some baskets to use to help keep things sorted. After the initial set up and temperature adjustment this freezer has worked great, consistent temperature, fairly quiet, not a big energy hog. We only wish there had been a similar size upright available.

Great Storage Space

I have owned this freezer for several months now, it is quite and roomy. The reason I gave it a four star instead of a five star rating is because the tiny green light on the bottom front panel flickers, which could become an irritant if placed in an area where people notice...as well as the formation of ice inside. However, it was disclosed upon purchase that there may be ice formation...

like it, it does give me the extra storage I needed but the two small racks are just not enough to help one keep things organzed and not to disappear into the frozen depths.

Bought this for basement. While it does a great job keeping things frozen, is spacious, frost forms on the edges. Not sure if it's us or what.
