freezer not working within 8 months

I purchased this freezer in 2013 September and it stopped working in 2014 May. Fortunately the one-year warrantee was still in effect. The service was fast though. The workman said the freezer's thermostat contact was bad.
I think if the company has reasonable faith in their freezer, the warrantee period should be longer, like three years.

We just got it today and so far it looks like it will last 5 years or more. We like how there are two baskets included and the metal wall keeps the cold. It's sitting empty right now as it normally takes 24 hours to get its desired setting. Only improvement we can see is the basket material. It should have been made with plastic or nylon. Very satisfied with GE!

I'm very pleased with this freezer. It doesn't take up too much space in our garage, but it really does hold a lot. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one again.

Our first freezer, and it is all we wanted/hoped it would be. Other than the blinking green light which should be solid the freezer works very well and holds all we need it to hold.

I've had this freezer for about 9 months. It cools great. The size us about 1/2 what I had before and takes up less space which is what wanted. I wsh it had more than 1 basket and some kind of divider in the bottom. Stuff gets lost in the bottom. You need some small baskets or boxes to be able to move things out of the way to see everything. It does hold a good amount of food. The only real negative to this freezer us that the top seal must let a little air in, because there are 2 or 3 places that always have some ice accumulating on the inside of the seal.
