I was happy with the grinder but for the on-off button/flapper on the top breaking off--I was still able to use it but wish it were sturdier. Then the plastic pieces in the grinder bowl disintegrated after a few years of use. I was disappointed that replacement parts were not available (b/c I would rather only replace the broken parts and not have to discard the entire thing), but pleasantly surprised that, despite being out of warranty, Mr Coffee offered to send a free replacement grinder. The service rep was courteous and the customer service experience was great. I just wish it weren't necessary to replace the whole thing in order to make it usable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The product does the job, you can not ask more for a grinder of this size, for those who did not read the manual, the cable is wrapped on the inside and can be removed easily. Good product, good value for money.

This is a great little grinder at a great price. I have had mine for over 3 years and it is still doing a great job. I liked this little grinder enough to buy a 2nd one for our RV. The cord is, indeed, long enough. It has a hidden cord storage on the base so that you don't have unsightly cord strewn about the counter...which I hate. The only problem I have had is the plastic clean out breaks over time. It has broken apart on both of my units. It doesn't affect the operation but it is a little Annoying. With that said, I have had this grinder for 3 years and feel it is time to buy a new chamber anyway.

Lasts forever!

I bought this grinder 9 years ago and I am still using it daily. It's been really awesome and only recently did the plastic "sweepers" start to break and presumably end up in my ground coffee. So now there's a little accumulation below the blades, but that doesn't bother me. I'm hoping I can find a replacement for just the chamber, but if not, I'll go to Target for a new one. We've had a great run!
And for those who are cord challenged, this is also a great feature because you can customize the cord length so you don't have to see the entire length taking up space on your countertop.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This device has three features worthy of note:
1. The bean chamber is detachable and can be washed with ease.
2. The grind settings take the guesswork out of how long to grind.
3. And, amazingly, I can wrap the cord around the bottom of the machine, tuck the plug into the cord and it magically stays in place without unraveling. I discovered this
alternative after trying to use the difficult cord storage system that comes with the device.

I haven't found the Chamber Maid feature to be of much value, but there are no negative effects that it produces ether.
Although the product grinds as well as any other blade grinder, these added features make using this well thought out design a really good choice.

I bought this a year and a half ago and did not notice that the cord was wrapped up in the slot at the bottom. I was using my wooden recipe box to place it on while I ground the beans. I feel so stupid! Thanks for the other people who figured it out and so kindly told us about it! I read the manual, but must have missed that part. Thanks again!

Cords Not to SHORT!!

Being a previous Helicopter mechanic you would think I would know better. I took the grinder out of the box tonight and read the directions. The cord was so SHORT it would not set on the counter and plug into the wall outlet. I went to Google to read other reviews on the cord to short. My wife said look at this!!
She stood in the kitchen showing me the cord is wound around the bottom of the unit and magically the cord becomes 27 inches LONG!!
Just unwind cord !!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've purchased a few coffee grinders over the years. A few of which I thought did a pretty good job. That is until NOW. This grinder is simple to use and yet because of the multitude of features, its perfect for coffee connoisseurs of all levels. The grinding chamber is removable, allowing for easy transference of grounds. No more guessing how long to grind for Fine, Medium or Course grounds; there's a preprogrammed selection of each. Want to freshly grind onky enough for a few cups, but you arent sure how that measures out; no worries, that too is printed of the sind of the grinder itself, along with the corresponding preselected options. Did I mention that the grinding chamber has a MAX FILL reminder, printed, with a line for reference. There's also a pulse grind option for those who'd prefer to wing it. Lol. Its slightly larger than my other grinders, but the added features are worth the added size. Its attractive and would compliement any kitchen decor. You will not be disappointed!!! As much as I tried, I dont see any cons with this unit.
