CORD TOO SHORT

I purchased the Mr. Coffee Grinder for myself for a Christmas Gift. The price was fantastic. The style was an eye catcher. The choices for grinding setting is fantastic. The ease of use is wonderful. I loved everything about the function of my grinder. However the "CORD LENGTH" was very disappointing. A total let down. I have to use an extention cord when I use my Mr. Coffee Grinder. I wanted to purchase another grinder for our home in Arizona but because of the "Short Cord" I've changed my mind. I was sad because I really like my Mr. Coffee Grinder.

Grinder cord

Cord too short. Why would anyone put a 4-6 inch cord on something that you need to place on counter. You have to literally hold it to the outlet to keep it plugged in on counter.

We're so glad that you mentioned this to us. The power cord on this coffee grinder has a length of approximately 3 feet. It appears that the remaining portion of the power cord is still wrapped around the cord storage. You would need to remove the remainder from the cord storage which is located under the bottom of the grinder. Now you are sure to enjoy quicker and easier coffee grounds!

Can't Completely Clean
on March 2, 2017

I've had mine for about a year. In that time, every time I've washed it, some water gets between the metal portion of the chamber and the clear plastic. Because it's used for coffee, that water is stained brown. Now, I have a dirty grinder, probably growing things, grinding my daily coffee. I can't get the grinding assembly off to separate the parts to clean it properly and letting it soak for a few hours is not an option since it takes all day to dry before tomorrow's coffee.
As a grinder, this works exactly as I need it to. The cord is only about a foot and a half long, fully extended, but I guess it won't fall off my counter any time soon. I just wish it wasn't harboring yuck somewhere I can't physically get to it.

Complicated and aggravating

This is the most complicated and aggravating grinder I’ve ever had.
All its “features” just make it more difficult to use.
To set the grind, you have to cycle through various settings with two buttons (which then reset after use, meaning you have to go through it all again next time). The operation is then timed, but I’ve never found the grind to be right, so have to activate it again and again. For espresso, the grind is horrible, resulting in both large particles and powder which then clogs my maker.
The manual makes it sound like the 3” long cord is a safety feature for the user, but in reality it’s just a super inconvenient, cost-cutting measure for them, requiring you to hover it in front of the outlet to use.
Grind compartment and its lid are full of nooks and crannies, so super messy are hard to get your coffee out.

Cord too Short
on January 16, 2016
Posted by: Dontbuyit
The cord is so short one has to hold the machine to grind the coffee. It can't be plugged in and set on the counter. The explanation is it would be a tripping hazard to have a longer cord. I must be strange because neither I nor my dog walk on the kitchen counter. Yes, it mentioned pets. There's no mention of this on the box. Now I have to take more time out of my day to return it. I'll not be purchasing another Mr. Coffee product when I return this one.

Good news...there's more cord available! It sounds like the remaining power cord may still be wrapped around the cord storage space located on the bottom of the grinder. When you flip the grinder over, you can unwrap the remainder of the power cord. Now you can enjoy the full and convenient usage of your coffee grinder. We hope you enjoy your freshly ground coffee beans!

4"cord too short!

I just returned this grinder because the cord was ridiculously short. I pulled and pulled on it and it would not extend. The directions say a short cord is included. Now after reading these reviews, I see you can apparently unwrap the cord and it's longer. HOW?? The directions didn't say anything about it and I was afraid I'd break it if I pulled harder, therefore, assumed the cord was only 4 inches. Do you have to take screws out or something to unwrap the cord?? If I would have known the cord was longer, I wouldn't have returned it because I like the features but now I've already bought another brand.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Underneath the grinder, there is a false bottom on this product that reveals a storage space for the rest of the cord. We would have loved to resolved this issue for you. If you ever decide to give Mr. Coffee a chance again we will be glad to assist you. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to give us a call at 1-800-672-6333. For your convenience, we are here to help you Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm,Eastern. Happy brewing!
