Excellent grinder - but bizarrely short cord!

I love the grinder itself, and the Chamber Maid cleaning feature is great!
...But unless you have kitchen outlets that are horizontal and low to your countertop surface, this appliance is literally unusable.

If your outlets are positioned about 2-3" above the countertop, and are horizontal, then this cord is long enough. (for example, many homes have a 4" backsplash where the countertop material has been brought up onto the wall -- and sometimes outlets are placed there) However, if you have a more typical outlet layout (especially in an older home) where the outlets are positioned vertically on the wall space between the countertop and upper cabinets... then you'd need an extension cord. Not exaggerating. Very strange.
That said, luckily I have an outlet positioned that way... and it's the ONE outlet where I can plug in.
Great grinder, though!

Stopped working after 2 uses.

Overall a good grinder.

I bought this grinder in 2010, used it regularly for awhile, then let it lay dormant because I stopped making coffee at home. Now that I'm retired, I have dusted it off and am using it daily. Two items -- both I can live without: The Chamber Maid broke into pieces and had to be removed; and...the false bottom popped out and two of the four tabs broke. It sure would be nice if you could send me another false bottom.

IDS77 grinder. Great value for the priced. Only downfall is the manual tells you it defaults to 12 cups medium grind. Mine defaults to 8 cups. I have to remember to select 12 cups. Otherwise, well worth the money to grind your own bean.

I bought this and after just one use it stopped working, I thought it would be good to grind my spices as well as the coffee. not worth the money
