Many had forgotten Ben's early Academy Award-worthy work as a writer, and his work bringing Dennis Lehane's novel to the screen here (with Aaron Stockard) is nothing short of breathtaking. The story is deep, dark, and full of unexpected turns, and Ben's younger brother Casey makes for the perfect choice of lead to lend the story a heavy feeling of reality and despair.
