I bought this for my husband who works outside in noise. He's always said his time would go faster if he at least had some music to listen to. I found this and bought it and he was realllly happy about it. He is very judgemental and hesitates to say anything is really good but he did say this about this Sony portable radio! He uses his ear bud from his phone and can still work outside and hear other talk. GREAT investment!!!

What's great about it: Easy to use, only takes 1 AAA battery! Local stations are CLEAR!

What's not so great: Non local stations are very fuzzy

I would recommend this to a friend!

Disapointing

Bought this to listen to ballgames on AM radio anywhere without dragging an old boom box out. Also has weather radio, but reception is very poor. Does not scan to find stations, so one must push the button repeatedly until station is found and recorded into presets. With no button lock I am constantly bumping buttons and accidentally changing bands or stations just about any time I move if I am wearing it. Not worth the 35 bucks I paid for it. I do however like being able to plug it into any of several portable speaker systems around the house. I have a lot of other Sony products that have never disappointed me, but this one is a loser.

Great little portable radio

Light weight, good reception. I use it every day while walking. They do eventually wear out, but an excellent value overall.

What's great about it: small size, good price

What's not so great: they eventually wear out and need to be replaced

I really like this radio-it's simple am-fm radio and that's
it. The reception is pretty good and I like that you can lock in
radio stations with preset buttons.
I do wish it had ear-buds instead of headphones.
The headphones are kinda bulky-but they sound good.

I love the "lock" feature on this, so when you accidentally hit the push buttons the station doesn't change or the radio shut off. Also with the digital station you don't have to worry about trying to locate the precise location of a station like with a dial.

Very Compact and User Friendly AM/FM

I replaced another Sony AM/FM mini radio that was not digital. It worked fine but I couldn't stand the tuning in process, especially when I switched from one band to another. And it doesn't have a hold button like my digital does so frequently I would have to re-tune in a station if the dial moved while the radio was in my pocket. Easy to use preset process, a marked improvement on another smaller radio that I had also abandoned. Sound is good. The headphones that come with the radio have excellent sound, but they're just to big and bulky. I don't know why Sony doesn't provide a nice set of ear buds for such a small product.
