What's not so great: Volume needs to be louder
I purchased a Jitterbug phone for my 87 year-old mother. She has no trouble using it as the phone gives directions for each action. The user only has to either push the "yes" or "no" button or the up or down button. And although my mom is able to select her desired number from the directory, the phone service also provides for operator-assisted dialing. It also is a no-contract service with several rate plans to suit any usage need. The buttons are larger than those on a regular mobile phone so it is much easier to use for someone with visual challenges or arthritic hands. Excellent product!

What's great about it: Easy set up/use
What's not so great: Monthly bill is really too much, but welcome to the real world.
I wanted a simple, easy to use phone for emergency use. We have 2 cell phones and only call each other. We have no need for all the "things" that cell phones do. This was perfect for our needs.

What's great about it: Easy to use and afordable
I purchased this phone for my wife's 90 year old mother. She never owned a cell phone before but she loves her phone and uses it often. It is a great phone and I would recommend it for anyone but it is a great phone for the elderly.

What's great about it: Large print and numbers for the elderly
This has been a great phone for my 78 year old mom. It's simple to use and the numbers and menus are in are large print. Also had a great experience with Best Buy when my mom got the phone wet and we needed to replace it. Since I had purchased the protect plan, Best Buy was pleasant and great to work with.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Great support, easy to set-up and simple operation
What's not so great: Nothing so far!
The Jtterbug has good size buttons and print, making it easier to read and handle. Operation is very simple, but some seniors may need coaching and practice before using the phone without assistance (those with severe memory problems or no experience with the newer technology). I have my Mom making "practice" calls every day so that she can remember how to use the phone in case of an emergency and have the emergency numbers saved in her phonebook. It was also good to know that being a member of AAA Roadside Assistance gave her a discounted monthly rate with 50 extra minutes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Ease of use.
What's not so great: Need to create call directory via the internet rather directly entering to the phone.
This is a great product for someone who wants only voice service without all the other gadgets and a phone that is very easy to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: It's a good basic phone.
What's not so great: It needs charging quite often.
My wife has limited vision and is mildly deaf. This phone is perfect for her. She doesn't want to text or surf or.... She wants to talk to family and friends, and the J'bug does that well. My only (minor) quibble is that you cannot directly access a phone book entry by pressing the "R" key (for example) to get the entry for "Robert". Not a big deal.

What's not so great: Expensive
The Jitterbug is perfect for any elderly person. The keys and screen are large enough so just about anyone can see it. I just recently bought this for my grandmother. The reason the price is so high is because the speaker in it is an M4T4 rated speaker, meaning that it is rated high enough for people with hearing aids. The operator is always avaliable to find the nearest hospital, gas station or anything you need. The sound quality was great when I tryed it out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love this phone and am so glad my daughter talked me into it. After several phones and horrible contracts, I couldn't be happier with finally finding Jitterbug. It works better (my other phone used to drop calls all the time) and is so comfortable. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for simple plans, great customer service and a phone that they will be comfortable using.

If you are not a tekkie and want a simple, easy telephone with large numbers and great customer service, the Jitterbug is for you. The "pay as you go" plan is great for an emergency phone. I feel safer having this phone.

What's great about it: Simple design. It works anywhere not just at home.
What's not so great: Small numbers. Speaker is too quiet.
The jitterbug has big buttons but the numbers are too small to read without my glasses. They have a service where a young person will come to your house and put all of your old phone numbers into your new phone...I haven't used it yet but I bet it is great.
I would recommend this to a friend!
