Great Movie

This was a really action packed and exciting movie. I have only one bad thing to say, is that while I was watching it I started to feel sick. It is a little hard to watch when it is through the lens of a video camera (the way they want you to see it).
What's great about it: Lots of action!!
What's not so great: The camera view can make you nauseous.
I would recommend this to a friend!

the whole movie was kind of boring and then the ending was one those endings where you feel like you want to throw the remote controler at the tv.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worth Buying

This movie was pretty good if you can ignore some of the unrealistic parts like the Statue of Liberty's head being too small, or the characters running around after receiving injuries that would obviously kill them. Besides that, it was a good movie. It wasn't a typical action/monster movie and I like that. The marketing for this movie was brilliant, and it leaves a lot of questions, which is great because our society thrives on rumors and speculation.
What's great about it: Storyline, concept, monster
What's not so great: Some parts weren't very believable
I would recommend this to a friend!

I absolutely LOVED this movie.. the average movie watcher may not though because this is no average movie. Don't expect what you normally see, this film is far from the norm. That is what makes it so exciting. Blair Witch was so popular because it seemed so real, the cameras were handheld and this film uses the same concept, only done much much better. The glimpses you get of everything around you are what the CHARACTERS see, not what the movie goer usually sees and knows to shout at the screen "not that way!" lol. This time you don't know anything that they don't know. This movie is original in so many ways. Original begining, original plot, original filming, original theory behind what is happening, and original ending too. You will not be let down if that is the type of Film you want to see!! Most movies let you guess the way they will go and the way it will turn out.. this one.. I dare you to try!! I LOVE it. The suspense is crazy!! I don't get scared easy at all NOT at all and I actually jumped at one scene there LOL. I'd say rent it and see if you can resist buying it. I bet not! Hold on for the RIIIIIIIIDE.
What's great about it: EVERY MOMENT after the party won't let you go!! WOW
What's not so great: the begining party is so so lol very realistic party going not so well

First of all, I want to tip my hat to the director for the layout of the movie. I was truly pulled into the story line. The thing that I wanted most was a good look at the monster. This movie did what it was supposed to do. It gave me bits and bits of views of the monster throughout the movie, and basically just teased me with small views. It seemed as if the further the movie progressed, the more clear the image of the monster became. Of all the aspects of this movie, my only complaint was the ending, but thats not enough to keep me from watching it again. Just a tip, I highly recommend some motion sickness medicine for anyone who gets "car-sick" before they watch this film.
What's great about it: different from all other movies
What's not so great: the ending
I would recommend this to a friend!

The actors blended well with the special effects made this movie come to life.But the problem with the movie is the very shaky camera that really can't time it's performance accurately enough.You missed certain angles so they keep trying different shots. Like in the electronic store he's shooting the camera at the t.v. for the best shot.And he doesn't know how to work some of it's features like lighting,night vision.Good thing there was someone with him who knew those things.The plot could have been better than the guy going back for his girlfriend.But at the end of the movie when there at the carnival something crash lands in the water in the background.
What's great about it: Actors,Special effects
What's not so great: Camera,Plot

why is this movie only like an hour and twenty something minutes, other than that is was great. the home video effect to the movie worked good. and special effects are amazing for this type of filming and it looks like your actually there cuz its on blu-ray. a lot of critics call movies heartpounding or breath taking. well this movie is actually both of those because its so realistic. the unknown actors are actually pretty good including Hudd the camera guy. but i couldve seen this movie having a lot of different ending even thought 2 different endings to it already. i hope the sequel is the same thing but from someone elses point of view in new york. its cool how previous recordings are seen when hudd is filming, too. the special feature are ok because nothing really tells you more than what you already know, but the bloopers are funny.
What's great about it: effects, monster
What's not so great: run time

Overall Cloverfeild brings a new asepect to the horror genera. I know that we have all seen or heard of Alien and/or Predetor, but Cloverfeild puts you in a competely diffrent realm. This horror is constuced through the sepense and effect captured and brings to life. Though the acting can get caught up, don't let it distract you because this movie is based on REAL life from a home camera perspective,this makes the actng a little chessey beacuse in REAL life no one would acutually run towrad the moster than away from it. One of the best action/drama films of 2007, a 5 out of 5 is completlydeserved.
What's great about it: Pretty much everything
What's not so great: Some acting can get caught up but don't let it distract you
I would recommend this to a friend!
