I am in my mid thirties and have had everything from a vintage magnavox to a Rega. this turntable is so dependable, stylish, and well made that I can say it is the best turntable I have ever had. The sound is excellent and it really brings record listening into the 21st century.
I bought this to pair with a Bose Revolve+ Bluetooth speaker. It pairs fine, but the Bose speaker volume controls are disabled when connected to this turntable. Other people posting on the Bose site are saying the same thing. So far No solution from Bose or Sony. Nice little turntable unless you’re planning to use it with Revolve+
It was great for 2 weeks and then it started distorting the sound and the record and skipping for no reason. and returned it and got another one and the same thing happened to it, I ould not recommend this at all
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Idea/Dumb Execution

I've only had this thing two weeks...and it's been frustrating. Whoever designed the software should be fired for incompetence. Why would you design a product that records vinyl to hard drive without giving one the ability to listen while recording? A Sony 'help' person told me it wasn't designed to do that! So, you have to guess when to flip over the record or pause between tracks or only record certain tracks. And you have to pause between tracks because the software doesn't recognize the space between cuts; it will only read as a continuous recording. Now, if you do the 'guessing' thing, it will record and do a nice job of cleaning up your vinyl without destroying the richness of an album sound. But man, why would Sony put out a product with this serious glitch? I expected a lot more from Sony. This is stupid.
What's great about it: It will record
What's not so great: You can't hear it while it's recording!
I bought it for the Bluetooth feature and because it had mainly positive reviews. However, I find it to be too light with too much plastic (especially the tone arm) making it very easy for skips to happen. The stylus doesn't seem like it will last very long either (I've already ordered a replacement). Also, my entire deck looks like a bad paint job with little bumps everywhere. I'm not sure if this was by design but it looks sloppy. Definitely feels like a much cheaper turntable than I had expected.
I just got this today, and have already recorded 2 songs onto my computer. I have the phono plugs hooked to my stereo and the USB cable hooked to the computer, it works beautifully, sound is great on playing and on playback after recording.
I'm glad I bought the turntable, it's plain and simple and gets the job done. I like the fact that I don't need a phono amp to use it, or i can use it with a receiver that has a phono input if I want to. I also like the ability to record to pc with the usb cable and software. It looks nice and plays records nicely as well.
