Picked up this record player with the hopes of expanding my record collection. Sure I have all them digitally now, but nothing beats the sound of vinyl. Now I’ve heard many record players over the years and there’s definitely differences in the quality. The quality of this unit is outstanding. Excellently balanced needle allows for a sweet sound. Add in the functionality of Bluetooth output and it’s a match made in heaven.
I have enjoyed other Sony components I have owned, but hose were from their ES line, much better performance
This turntable is okay; what drew me to it is the very low profile - I have a sliding drawer in my stereo rack and I needed to be able to open the cover enough for it to stay open while I changed discs.
Bought this a bit over a month and I've been enjoying it so much! It has a very slick design and is so user friendly. Haven't run into any issues so far. Highly recommend!
I bought this on Black Friday and immediately upon opening discovered two large scratches on the cover. No big deal, I can always purchase a replacement and not worth the hassle of a return I would have to ship. Set everything up, went to play a record and realized the RPM is so far off. It’s now January and haven’t used it once since I still need to adjust the speed. Overall, love the design but dislike how it wasn’t ready to go out of the box. I would also like to mention the start and stop button have a delay compared to my Audiotechnica record player.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very easy set up. About 15 minutes out of the box to ready to play. This turntable sounds awesome through my Kenwood amplifier, so I can't comment on its own preamp capabilities. It looks great and does the job!

Monitoring while you record is easy

I just bought a PS-LX300USB and made my first recording. Very slick! I wanted to address a point made by more than one reviewer - "Can't monitor while recording".
It is really very easy to do as there are two sets of outputs - USB & RCA (phono). All you do is run the USB to your computer and run the RCA to a stereo. In my case, my stereo is in another room - SO - I just got an adaptor from Radio Shack (COUPLER - two female RCA, one end, and one female mini phono, other end) and hooked up a set of iPod earphones to the RCA outs. Cheap headphones are best because they are designed for low output devices and will give you enough volume to monitor with, with only the turntable's built in "line-out" to power them.
When one song ends hit the pause button, then the make another recording button, then the record button again.
There are plenty of effects and tools - for old albums you can use the EQ to boost the highs, etc or put in a little reverb to make it sound more live.. You can preview (hear) any effect before committing.
A great little package - all you need to do the job.
What's great about it: It's a whole vinyl transfer package
What's not so great: Short on instructions
I would recommend this to a friend!

The software that comes with this is great for a lot of audio tasks, unfortunately, ripping vinyl albums is not one of them.
I downloaded the free Audacity software which makes ripping vinyl albums a lot easier. Plus you can listen to the LP while your record.
