We bought this item for the multiple outlets and surge protection for the PC. Luckily we do not have any of those large DC converter plugs to plug in as these sockets are very close together, plus are oriented with the ground (third pin) socket in line with the length of the powerstrip (not at 90 degrees, or to the side). That type of plug would therefore cover even more sockets.

I needed some additional outlets for my computer, monitor, external blu ray drive, and three external hard drives. That is six outlets that I needed...so it matched my needs. I will be in trouble when I need to add another hard drive but not too worried because the surge protector is relatively inexpensive. Maybe the only real downside is that the outlets are "close" to each other so if you have an oblong/wart plug it may block the outlet next to it.
