For most of my adult married life I have had smooth topped stoves and love them. We recently updated our kitchen and went with all LG stainless steel appliances. I previously had a convection range and chose to stay with that on my new stove. The LG unit has the warming burner which I did not have on my old GE Profile range. I do like having five different burners and even though I have only had this range for a month, I'm still learning all about the way each burner heats and how to use them. The convection oven is a blessing as was my old one. I never use conventional baking/roasting as I've become so used to baking in a convection oven and love how the circulating fan keeps foods from burning or becoming to brown.
I haven't had the opportunity to use the easy clean but certainly can appreciate that function with small spills. How clever of LG.
I love the blue interior and the range is so attractive as are all my stainless steel appliances.
I highly recommend this convection range and give it five stars easily.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, blue oven interior

Bad Touch Pad

I have had this stove less then two years and have had to have the touch pad replaced once already and now it is out again three months after repair was done. I like this stove but not the fact that this is the second time this has went out and now there is no way to get it fixed unless I buy a new touch pad. This should not go out like this and now no more warenty on it and even if i fix it again how do I know it will not go out again? Like I said, love the stove but I really cannot keep putting money into it like this.
Pros: Performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

LG LRE3083ST Best oven/range
on January 11, 2015

I have owned and used several different makes of ovens in my lifetime. This is truly the best and should have a 12 star ratting. I purchased this oven 11/11/2014 as my old smooth top electric range died. I was scared to purchase a new unfamiliar brand since I was cooking for family and friends for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This is the first time I have used true convection. It really is the best way to cook all meats. I cooked a large Turkey and large Ham and 6 side dishes and rolls all at the same time both holidays. The LG LRE3083 is truly the largest oven. It was so nice not to have to drag out the roaster and give up my counter space to cook the entire dinners. Everything was cooked and on the dinner table at the same time and on the scheduled time. I have to give the credit to my LG Oven. Everyone raved at how moist the turkey and ham were. Again I have to give the credit to my LG oven. I have never used true convection before it truly is the best. All my meat dishes have been seared on the outside and moist on the inside with no cold or overdone spots. I bake a lot of cakes and since using my LG all of them have come out smooth and even on top and super moist. Again I have to give credit to my LG since I have not changed my recipe. I have never had a oven preheat as fast. The easy clean feature is out of this world. Just spray water(with bottle provided)on the walls and floor of oven run the cycle(which is only 20 minutes)then wipe out with rag. How much easier can it get? And no chemicals.
This is the third smooth top I have owned. It is the best to cook on and the easiest to clean. For the holiday dinners the warming zone kept the gravy perfect and I did not have to constantly stir it. My husband thinks all the egg dishes I prepare are better. Again I have to give the credit to my LG since I have not changed the pans or my recipes. When shopping for a new oven/range size and price were the most important. With my purchase I got price, size, ease of use and looks. The quick boil feature is great. When I read reviews on products I believe and consider the products that also include a bad comment to consider to be the most reliable. I can not think of anything bad or that I dislike about my LG to report. I think all my future appliances will be an LG.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, best to clean

AMAZING

I absolutely LOVE this stove. This glass top cooks evenly and so easy to clean. The control panel is great without nobs looks great. The interior gets "oohs" and "aahhhs" whenever a guest sees it, that great purple/blue color. I have made meatloaf in half the time I did before. Baking with the convection made awesome cookies. Best part was the convection roast. I made a chicken that came out with delicious, crisp skin outside and so juicy inside, it tasted amazing with just salt and pepper on it, no extra work. Figuring out how to convert time for convection cooking was difficult for me as this is my first, but after learning that it takes about 3/4 the time, it is so much easier. Has a cute little song when preheat is done or timer is up. Great stainless steel look. With the rest of the LG appliances I purchased, my whole kitchen looks amazing and brand new. Simply great appliances.

Solid Performance and Great Features for the Price

Overall, very happy with this purchase. However, the push button controls for the stove are a bit clumsy to get used to. A dial for stove operation is so much more efficient to set the normal operating temp.
Under normal cooking conditions, one generally uses the medium - medium high temp setting. Problem is, the way this push button control was engineered is that you have to repeatedly push buttons to set the desired temp. The first push of the burner button activates the particular burner you wish to use. Then you have the choice of either a "plus" or "minus" button to push. a single push of the "-" button starts the burner temp at the lowest possible setting, i.e., 1. A single push of the "+" button starts the burner temp at the highest setting, i.e., "10". Therefore, to set the burner temp on, say 5, you have to repeatedly push the button until the indicator reads 5, i.e., "Medium" temp setting. A better approach would have been to engineer the burner to both activate and set the temp at "medium" on initial first press of button, then one could use the plus or minus key to go either lower or higher from there, resulting in fewer pushes of buttons to set the desired cooking temp.
Other than this, the stove performs well and looks terrific.

Overall great stove; burner controls not simple

I have only been using this stove for about 3 weeks but I like it very much. The ceramic stove top has dots that camouflage dirt and grease (but it must be cleaned with every use and cleaning is easy). The oven is larger than my previous one (It cooked an 18 pound turkey, sweet potatoes and biscuits all at the same time for Thanksgiving) and its blue interior is a knock-out. For some reason it seems to stay cleaner than my previous oven, as after Thanksgiving it still looked as though it hadn't been used (and I cook my turkeys without a cover). I also like the idea of the quick clean feature, although I have not used it yet. I have not used the convection feature either, as I'm not sure why it is needed but will try it in the near future. Stove top boils water quickly; but burners heat hotter than other stoves I have had so I am getting used to dropping the temp when I cook anything other than water. My only complaint thus far regards the stove top touch controls. You have to start either at lowest or highest temperature and then hold your finger there continuing to press until you reach the lower or higher temperature you want. Meanwhile you have your arm suspended over the burners, some of which may already be hot or have cooking pots on them. This makes me nervous and makes me wish I had knobs or some other mechanism that can be instantly turned to the correct temperature.

I didn't think I'd love it this much...

I was cooking one night and my old (not an LG) stove-top shattered, so I was suddenly in the market. I wasn't looking for much. I was new to the empty nest scene, cooking for myself didn't seem like fun. I was never much of a baker, but I knew I probably should replace my hunk of junk I had and buy something new.
I promised myself I just wanted something plain, nothing fancy, and no more glass tops. I picked out a coiled range, he was nice, but kind of boring. Then I saw him. He was a rough around the edges, he was marked down, but he looked strong. I opened his door and he felt so solid. But the beauty of his blue interior hooked me. 6.3 cubic feet? Does size really matter? I didn't need 6.3 cubic feet...
But I kept peeking in his door. I liked the black top. White is so hard to keep clean, especially when you are passionate when you cook. Although cooking is rare, I am passionate when I do.
The price was right and I caved. It was the blue interior. I got him home and stared at him. I cleaned and polished him and didn't want to cook because I didn't want him to get dirty. I left him alone for a couple of days and my son came home and he cooked, he was unabashed by his transgression. But my LG cleaned up beautifully.
So I started off by boiling some water. Whew, that was fast. So I added some pasta...
I was hooked. Then I decided to bake some cookies.
I used the true convection feature...
I love the chimes when it reaches temperature. It baked so fast and so evenly I was amazed. So I baked some more. My LG makes baking fun.
Every time I open his door and look at him I feel that tingle. This is a lifetime commitment, he is the one.
Thanks LG, this one's a keeper.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, the blue interior

Never buy this Range!
on March 15, 2020

This range has been horrible! I have had it almost 6 years and every year around thanksgiving I have had to have it repaired! It’s never a cheap fix. First we tried to clean it and it broke. Wouldn’t even turn on. We fixed that. Then the oven wouldn’t stay hot. Next year the fan quit working. Next time the duel heating element. Now it’s the control switch board and the oven won’t stay hot. Repair man said for what it would cost to repair we should buy a new one and not an LG!!! I could have bought a brand new stove for all I have put into this.
Do not buy this range! It will suck the life out of you!
