Love the finish and the ice maker!

I bought this because I have had stainless steel in the past and really disliked the fingerprints on my appliances. The slate is perfect. Really the only thing I have to keep clean is the door handles. I like the space inside and I love the large ice bin.

Only problem that we have with this frig is the small drawer. It sticks like crazy and there doesn't seem to be a fix. Other than that, it is great!

Okay - but not as great as I originally thought

We had a GE gold star refrigerator before (still working and now is in our utility room) and since we were happy with that one, decided to buy GE again for our kitchen remodel, after MUCH research. It does its job, keeps food cold or frozen. We purchased another side by side, as we had had before, these new doors (even if unit is slightly tilted backwards) do not shut by themselves. Fingerprint "resistant" model still show an awful lot of prints, for being "resistant" maybe not as bad as some? But very hard to clean off. Ice maker (not in the door anymore) is awful. Takes forever for ice to reach the door dispenser. Our old model still works wonderful, and it's sometimes quicker to walk into the other room to get a cup full of ice. And this refrigerator is loud. We had read that in the reviews. Although we have gotten use to it. You definitely know the fridge is on. And when it makes ice? It also makes itself known. Bad Buy? NO, but be aware, GE made new "improvements" on this one and maybe should have stayed with what they had.

Nice but only can made 7 ice cubes at a time.

I like it but the ice cubes was slow to come out. Had it service and so far doing better but he told me it only can do 7 ice cubes in 45 mins.
