Lots of room

I bought this fridfe a couple months ago. Itvhas a lotnof room, you can seevthe whole fridge, there are not really and "hiding" places to forget what you have in there. However the doors do not close with the magnetic like field like ourvlast fridge. But if it doesn't close properly the door alarm will remind youbto close.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This side by side functions well, though the bottom drawer does not slide in and out very easily. It runs quietly, but does make odd noises regularly.

Freezer and ice maker work well and keep ice cream hard just like it is supposed to be. My only comment is that the refrigerator setting has to be at it's coldest setting in order to keep the refrigerator temp. in the mid 30's which is the range I prefer for food and drink palatability.

It is ok and large

I bought this refrigerator in March 2016 (it is now the end of July 2016). It was to replace a GE Arctica that I had purchased in July of 2001. I was disappointed to find that many of the fun features no longer existed, such as a quick chill/defrost drawer. It seemed to be fairly equivalent so we bought it. The old one had a bad compressor. I do not like the french door refrigerators that have taken over the market (I hate bending to get into my freezer). After a few months of research, we came back to the GE because of its size and features. But it has a few things I do not like.
It runs fine but makes odd noises when it makes ice. A gear seems to whine for about 1.5 minutes and you can hear the water enter the chamber. The drawers feel a lot more flimsy than in the old refrigerator. I think they changed the type or thickness of the plastic. The water from the dispenser is only chilled, not cold. With the old one, I never needed ice to make the water really cold. Now I do.
But the most annoying thing is that my food keeps getting frozen in the refrigerator. I had yogurt and a whole dozen of eggs freeze. A very strange thing to see when you are trying to make a cake! I have lost a variety of produce because of this. I am not sure why this happens. My husband has suggested that it was because we had it filled to capacity. But it has happened when it is NOT filled to capacity. I have checked the settings and everything is fine.
It still is better for me than any of the other side by sides I found but the quality is definitely lacking.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
