I let my husband talk me into a side by side....after having a french door. Never again. I feel it's really small, but if you like a side by side it's not bad. When we bought it and installed it, the ice machine didn't work and water kept over-flowing onto the floor. A new one was brought to us and it worked great. However, now a little less than a year later and the light bulb in the fridge has stopped working...it blinks constantly while the door is open. And it has been the biggest pain to get a replacement for it!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

NO FINGERPRINTS!!!

So far this refrigerator great! My girlfriend and I wanted stainless steel but after walking through the showroom and seeing all the finger smears on the stainless appliances we quickly started changing our minds. We have a 3 month old and in a few months the stainless I'm sure would never look clean again! The color is a little darker than most stainless but we actually like it more. The fact that it is pretty hard to leave marks is great, you only really see finger or hand marks on the handle which is to clean. Lighting and storage is great, the ice maker takes up a little room in the freezer but no more than the bags of ice I was buying before. Overall I would recommend this refrigerator to anyone!

GE Refrigerator Side by Side

This refrigerator is basically like the previous refrigerator I owned. I would have purchased a larger refrigerator had I had the space for one. However, that being said, this newer refrigerator is a little deeper and has more shelf space. I like the additional drawers too. The convenience of the ice and water in the door I really enjoy. The slate color brings a clean look as well with no fingerprints except on the handles, but that's not a big deal.

Shopped and shopped for a new refrigerator and always kept going back to that gorgeous Slate GE. We bit the bullet not knowing just how beautiful it would look. What a surprise when it blended perfectly with our existing cabinets/counters. We cannot wait to purchase the entire suite of appliances in the same finish.
