Good but wish inside was better designed

My old refrigerator was 16 years old and was slightly smaller in cubic ft. But, I could put more food in it than I can this slightly larger GE. Whoever put the protective covering on didn't think - plastic is caught under the edge along the doors and at the top, and I cannot get it all off. I think the black edging was put on after the protective plastic so it is stuck. What I don't like: narrow freezer bins that barely hold anything, ice maker takes up too much space; baskets need to be a little wider so they don't slip off the side runners; bottom basket that is only half the depth of the freezer. My old one also had a half shelf on the top that was great for allowing 2 levels for jars. Now I have empty space. What I like: the slate gray color that does not show fingerprints (although the stainless handle does); bins are a good size for fruit and vegetables; refrigerator door bins are deep.

Classy look inside and out. Able to keep clean. Love the capacity of the door shelves, and the adjustable inside shelves. The extra draw space is a bonus!

I just had this side by side delivered this week.
the sealing strip doesn't seem right in one spot, causing it to frost up in the freezer. Need to see if re-leveling fixes the problem.

I'm quite pleased with this fridge. My biggest concerns when purchasing a fridge is 1) the compressor is loud, and 2) the surface will look messy due to water markers/fingerprints. My wife wanted a stainless steel, but (2) above was a serious concern with that option. Thankfully, this slate surface looks great, even when the doors are heavily used (the handles look messy, but they are easy to wipe down). As for (1), I hardly notice the compressor (and I'm very sensitive to noise). My parents have a fridge from a different manufacturer, and the unit whines almost 24/7. It is truly horrible. This unit is great. My only gripes: 1) the light in the fridge is quite large, and 2) the ice marker in the freezer take a lot of space (the maker and the door unit combined).

Just a bit too tall

We purchased this refrigerator as a replacement for a 15 year old one. The finish is amazing, and the features are exactly what we needed. The only con was that it was 1/4" too tall to fit under the cabinets, requiring modification of the cabinets (Note: the size indicated on the GE website was not correct -- it was posted as being the exact height we needed).

We purchased this product about a month ago. I was thrilled with the smudge proof exterior! I am happy with most everything about the refrigerator except the spacing of the shelves. I wish there was a way to lower the second shelf. I think there needs to be one or two more spaces to lower the second shelving area--maybe even the slides could go all of the way down the refrigerator so adjustments could be anywhere.
