So fat so good

For some reason it took a while for the water to come out, but once it did it's been great. Also, finger prints show up pretty quick but all in all very satisfied with our purchase.

Nice side by side refrigerator

We bought this within the last month. It is almost identical to the refrigerator we replaced except this one is slate and the prior stainless steel. Stainless is nice but hard to keep fingerprints etc off of. The slate needs less cleaning and is also magnetic. We would have preferred a french door model but hard to find one with external ice/water in our budget. French doors are nice because you get more refrigerator space up top and smaller freezer compartment below. The only reason I am giving a four star is because the refrigerator we replaced blew an internal component and was just barely cool to freezing or just above. It was not cost efficient to repair. That refrigerator was nine years old and after researching we found the lifespan could be anywhere from 8-17 years so we wished we could gotten more time with it instead of an unexpected large expense to replace now. You do hear water refilling to the ice maker or ice dropping but nothing bothersome. The one thing we use all the time is the ice dispenser and water outside the refrigerator and we would not give this up. Overall it is a good refrigerator and we would recommend it for family or friends.

Due to the previous GE refrigerator that we had we looked for a non-GE refrigerator. However, as we shopped we could find no refrigerators that met our expectations. We looked at the new side by side GE Refrigerators and were surprised to see that the things that we did not like about the old one had been improved. Now, with the new model, we can access ice by hand through a swinging door on the icemaker. Before, the bin had to be removed to access ice by hand. The ice maker on/off switch is now easily accessible. And the freezer shelves have been improved. The old ones would fall. The support for the shelves has been improved and the shelves stay properly in place. A new feature that I like is the temperature read out on the door. Now there is no guessing as to whether the freezer and refrigerator are at their proper temperatures. This refrigerator is roomy and we have no problem storing several large items. Such as a whole turkey, pies and dressing can be stored all at once. It also handles a watermelon quite well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We are really please with this fridge. We were a little nervous that a side-by-side wouldn't have enough fridge space but it is great. Very nice design, easy to move shelves and make it work for us.
