Loud & handle broke, but H2O is tasty...

Keeps things cold and water tastes great, but less than quality parts has seen the handle break off the door and fridge itself is quite loud.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A good replacement

One week into usage and I find this to be a good replacement for my 10+ year old "premium brand". Apparently, not much has changed but numerous parts seems of lesser quality. The refrigerator took several hours (4+) to reach operating temperature - I believe my old one of the same interior size took half the time. The interior lights gives off a bluish hue which may need some getting used to; perhaps there is a purpose for that. The front water/crushed/cubed-selectors does not light and therefore in low-light one can not see where to change selection before using. GE advertises the slate coloration to be resistant to fingerprints and smudges however let it be known that the handles are not. I chose GE because a service tech claims that he has the least service calls from this company - the brands with high tech being the highest (sorry - not allowed to name brands).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Although I have only had my new refrigerator/freezer a few days, I really like the exterior and interior looks. Also, it is very quiet, and I truly hope it will be as reliable and long lasting as have been my other GE appliances.

Great Features, Great Price

This side-by-side is a replacement for another GE side-by-side that we had for 14+ years, but it decided we needed a replacement, as it finally stopped working. Shopped around for another refrigerator-freezer (both on-line & in person), looked at other brands & compared features, then came back to this GE model. Couldn't be more pleased.

WIFE WANTED A DIFFERENT BRAND BUT THEY WERE MADE SO CHEAP. THIS GE WAS STURDY AND LOOKED GREAT WITH LOADS OF COOL FEATURES.

I bought this refrigerator about 3 months ago. I absolutely love it. Although, I had to get use to the smaller space with the side by side from having a french door refrigerator, I still feel the space is great. The lighting inside is perfect....it's not to bright and not to dim. There is sufficient door space for storage of condiments as well. The freezer has many shelves and 2 baskets and the ice maker works like a charm....we always have ice! I highly recommend this appliance to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced, nice and fully functional refrigerator!
