Early Product Failure

My unit is 3 years old and already we are replacing the fan for the 2nd time and the LED light bar in the freezer. Terrible inconvenience in the respect that we have had to live out of coolers and cans, pay a repair person, and additionally we have had to miss work for the repair appointments.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ice maker issues

The ice maker never has worked well. Huge clumps of ice. Internal mechanism for dispensing ice broke after a couple of years. After 4 years, we now have water pouring down the back of the freezer from the ice maker.It is a mess! Unable to use freezer. Turned off the ice maker, everything is covered with frost and ice maker is hot.

Operates just fine…

Operates and stores everything I need just fine. The problem is finding the filter you need to replace. Apparently these specific filters are discontinued and impossible to find. I have tried 4 different companies including GE to send me the correct PP1002 1Pk, GE MWF, KENMORE 46 9991, 9996 COMPATIBLE filter and they send me one that looks identical but no longer fits. Every filter that is recommended for my fridge doesn’t fit, lined up to the triangle or marking and everything.
This is incredibly frustrating, I just want clean water.

For this model, it looks like if the unit was made after June 2018 then it would take the XWFE filter instead of MWF, or MWFP. You can order this on our Parts Store website at the link below:
Now that you have the correct filter part number, we would recommend replacing it with an XWFE filter. If you should have any trouble with the filter, we have a 30-day warranty on all filters ordered on our Parts Store website.

Condenser and evaporator went out in the 1st 4 years. Ice maker line also bad and to fix...400 bucks. I will never buy another GE product. Fridge before this, evaporator and cooler also went out....6 weeks apart. Even technician said go another brand.

Good fridge, but does not seem durable

I have not had this fridge, but for maybe 2 to 3 years if that. It seems to be made out of Teflon him parts chip, and crack so easily. It’s ridiculous. Now when I’m looking for parts to replace them, they don’t even match the model number and half of them are out of stock. Would NOT again.
