Nice doors but poor electrical

We bought this and within a couple idb momths noticed that items at the back of the fridge freeze. In addition, after almost exactly one year, our power went out for an hour and the fridge wouldn’t turn back on!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

New Refrigerator Holds temperature well

I bought another refrigerator and it's freezer section temperature varied from -11F to 34F. It was NOT a GE refrigerator. I was told since it kept the food frozen there was nothing wrong with the refrigerator (I really don't believe that). So as not to have this problem again, I looked in consumers reports which stated the GE GSE25HMHES held temperature well. The vendor gave me a credit for the first refrigerator (NOT A GE) and sent me this GE refrigerator. After the 24 hour stabilization period we loaded this refrigerator with food. Monitoring with remote temperature detectors (not the installed temperature monitor) shows this refrigerator holds temperature very well.It also showed the installed temperature indicator on the front panel, while slow to respond to temperature change (i.e. will not show a momentary air temp change from opening, loading a few items and closing), does show the stabilized temperature accurately. So far I am very happy with both the refrigerator section and freezer section temperature control.
I would recommend this to a friend!

GREAT SO FAR!!

I haven't had this very long but I can tell you
1. The lighting in s wonderful
2. The drawers are made sturdier than most others
3. Temperature controls are spot on and it doesn't freeze on top shelves like some refrigerators.
4. Freezer compartment works great from top to bottom
5. I've maker is great
6. VERY QUIET
CONS:
1. LIGHt on top is a little too large limiting some space.
2. Wish all the drawers were lined up together with no space between.
OVERALL: GREAT REFRIGERATOR/FREEZER FOR A GREAT PRICE.

Has all the right features for my household

We purchased this refrigerator to replace an appliance from another manufacturer than was a 'lemon'. To be fair, the other manufacturer refunded us the full purchase price when they determined they could not fix the appliance. I don't consider this a black mark against the other manufacturer because these things can happen to anyone. The previous appliance had a bottom drawer freezer, with the ice maker in the refrigeration compartment. We found that ice maker problematical - we were always running out of ice, the water dispenser was very slow, and the bottom drawer freezer hard to organize. I realize the latter issue is not manufacturer specific - it comes down to model choice. Our new GE refrigerator solves all these issues. The ice maker is superb with a very large storage capacity so we never run out of ice. The water flow is fast enough to fill a glass quickly. The side by side style works well for us - freezer organization is easy. And the slate appearance looks great. A bonus - magnets stick on the surface which allows us to easily put things up without tape. Oh, and fingerprints do not show up on the surface. The only minor criticism I have is that the refrigerator lighting is a bit dim and easy to block with food items. Given that our kitchen lighting is quite bright, this issue is easy to ignore.

Great Refrigerator

We bought this refrigerator because of it's so many features and at a good price. Love the deep water dispenser,no dripping down front of refrigerator, deep shelves that pull out and the temperature control is a plus. We purchased the Slate and just love the color and NO FINGER PRINTS...........I would highly recommended this product.

Great replacement for my 25 year old GE

When I had to remodel my kitchen I decided to get new appliances. My old GE still worked good except for the ice maker. I donated it to a thrift store because there are several more years in the refrigerator and side by side freezer. I really like the addition of the water filter and the general lay out of the drawers and shelves in my new one. I was lucky to get this one on sale. I insisted on GE because of the many years of service from my old one. I also like he slate color.

Terrible choice for me

I am used to top of the line products and based on these reviews, i took the chance. Maybe i got a lemon but not happy at all with this refrig freezer. The temperature does not stay constant. Runs on the warmer side dispite have the temp set right, water dispenser is not as tall as my old Jenn-Aire. The water drips from the dispenser. The shelves in both fridge and freezer are very hard to pull out, even when depressing the shelf safety tabs. Just not happy at all. The done light right in the middle of the top takes up far too much room, preventing some taller items from fitting. The seals in the drawers just came out now everything turns moldy in a short time. The coolers in the positions they are in are freezing up salad items at times. I dont like the molded shelf spacing. Everything seems so cheaply made.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
