I want to marry my new fridge, but my wife won't share me.

Can a fridge be stunning to look at? You betcha! Don't skimp with your new fridge because it is the centerpiece of your kitchen. With it's gently curving doors, smooth stainless finish and awesome LED lighting, this baby is as close to sexy as an appliance can get.
I'm finding that food stays fresher longer, milk is good a week after the expiration date and meats don't get funky after a few days. And it's so quiet, I was checking to see if it was even turned on.
The crisper and deli drawers have a nice smooth feel as you pull them out. The door bins are sturdy. I just wish there was another one included and with closer-set height adjustments. I bought an extra deli drawer divider to help keep everything organized. I might do that with the freezer as well. The folding and collapsible shelves add versatility. Unfortunately, the icemaker eats up some valuable shelf space and bins on the left door have a dimished capacity. But there's still a lot of usable room. Much more than my 10 year old side by side. I took all of it's contents plus that of an 18 CF top freezer fridge and easily incorporated into the Samsung.
Complaints about the icemaker being noisey are just nitpicking. Ice will make noise as it falls into the bin. It's just a law of nature. Every fridge I've owned with an icemaker made a similar noise. Make a game of it. When the ice dumps, close your eyes and imagine you're in a bowling alley and yell, "Strike!". Always good for a chuckle. We had only minimal ice output at first, but the more we used it, production seemed to ramp up. We haven't run out since.
French doors take a little getting used to initially. Because of the door "flipper", it's best to close the left door first. And make sure it closes all the way. Unlike a side by side, there's a little resistance so pay attention. The open door chime has come in handy many times.
I've also seen a drop in our electric bill. This may be in part because we're in between heating and cooling seasons or possibly the better efficiency of our new Samsung refrigerator. Only time will tell with that.
Pros: Durable, sexy! no really!, awesome led lighting in fridge and freezer, solid shelving and bins, drawers glide nicer than most, quiet. like it's not even plugged in, mammoth interior, real stainless steel. not stainless-like, got a good deal
Cons: ice maker eats up a fair amount of room, water dispenser a little sloppy, need closer set door bin adjustments, need at least one more door bin
I would recommend this to a friend!

excellent choice for lots of food

We completely renovated our kitchen, and one of the most important purchases was the fridge. We spent a lot of time thinking through what would work and what wouldn't. One of the considerations was that we need to have enough room in the fridge/freezer for significant storage, so that we don't have to have another fridge/freezer in the garage. This unit fills the bill. It's got an amazing capacity, especially the huge freezer. Some have complained that it's got a noisy ice-maker. Well, we've certainly heard it, but it's not like it runs constantly. If we've used the ice-maker a lot, then it'll clunk a few times, but it's not really noticable after you notice it the first couple of times. (E.g., I heard it in the middle of the night, couldn't figure out what it was, so I got up with baseball bat in hand... duhh, it was the fridge. I didn't do that again.)
We think it's quite stylish, and it fits well, given the tiny kitchen that we have (this is the largest unit available for the spot).
The controls are easy to use and intuitive. The shelves are endlessly adjustable. If I have to quibble, it would be nice to have a way for the water overflow to drain automatically (never heard of such a thing, but...).
One strange but logical thing is that the ice/water won't work unless the doors are completely closed (they ding when left open too long, but it's possible to miss that). This fooled me into thinking something was tragically wrong, but then I heard the ding....
If I had to do it all over again, I would have insisted on a 1/4" larger opening for the fridge. It's a tight fit, even though the dimensions are accurate.
I would recommend this to a friend!

owned 6 months

We have owned this for almost 6 months and so far it has been perfect. I do worry about how long it will last, My parents bought their first frig in 1950 before I was born, before that it was an ice box basicly a big cooler that you had to go out and buy blocks of ice and put them in to keep things cold. My mother recently told me she had to talk my dad into buying an electric frig since my dad had never seen one before. She told me he would open the door and just stare at it in amazment, no ice to go get, unbelievable! The point of this story is, that refrig is still working perfectly 60 years later. The only thing that has been done to it is replacing the door gasket and is still in service as a bar refrig. So if this samsung lasts 15 years I would be happy. I doubt it will but the true test of an appliance is longevity.
lighting: is excellent best I have ever seen.
Love the lower freezer uses less power won't dump all the cold out when opened and the door opens and closes easily. Freezer holds quite a bit but similar to our small garage box freezer you still have to dig to find what you want, but that is the way it is. The upper drawer is great for the smaller stuff or the boxed stuff. The bottom portion is good at holding larger or irregular stuff.
Icemaker works fine not a big resevoir but if you use a lot of ice then get the dual icemaker unit or as we did for a 7/4 party buy some cheap ice trays and bag it or you could actually go buy some. After all you are buying a refrig not an icemaker. If you dump the ice bucket as I do every few weeks (since we normally do not use much ice) it will make a noise like ice falling on plastic, but as it fills it does get quiter. They all make noise when they dump a load so quit whining, you will get used to it.
Space: Inside the space is excellent, I recently smoked 4 12 pound turkeys and put all of them on the bottom shelf and I could have put 3 or 4 more if I needed to. fyi 12 pounders are the best fit for my smoker. I do like that the milk oj etc. is in the door it makes it easier to see what needs to be checked for disposal. The thing that concerns me is pulling the shelves for cleaning, it looks like it could be a major pia.
conclusion: This is a good refig "so far" but they ain't makin em like they used to.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Not high def

29 cu. ft French Door Refrigerator
on December 28, 2011

I bought this refrigerator about 6 months ago. I am very satisfied. I gave it a high rating due to its overall performance. I have not had any problems with the refrigerator keeping my food cold. I have never owned a Samsun or a french door designed Refrigerator. I like the french doors. there is so much room. The freezer is a little bit for me to get used to. I am not usually impressed with a basket design freezer. It forces you to stack things on top of each other. What ever you are looking for seems to always be at the bottom so you have to dig through everything to get to it. With a little organization you can probably remedy this. The Ice and water dispenser work great. The filter will need to be change about every 6 month which is recommended by the manufacturer. I do taste a slight difference in the quality of the water at about 5 and a half months. The water in my town is really dirty. So I would gage 6 months to be a good estimate.
There a few features that I also like about the refrigerator. You can manually set the temperature of the freezer and refrigerator by utilizing the digital display located on the left door. I have not encountered any leaks or defects in this model. This unit is also set at a competitive price. If you are in the market for a new refrigerator then I would definitely recommend this one.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color

After 1 year - Paying for repairs
on March 30, 2011

After 1 year and the warranty ran out, like it was on a timer, sheets of ice started to develop under the deli drawer, I would pull the drawer out and with a hot towel, break it up and remove it. Within a week or so the ice would return; now so much ice is developing, the deli drawer is freezing shut!
I purchased this french door refrig when it was first introduced, expecting it to last without having to pay for repairs after 1 year.
Disappointing to say the least.
Pros: large space/freezer door slides with ease
Cons: poor interior seals
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Refrigerator is the best that we have had in the most recent time. We have had over 7 refrigerators in the past 30 years. The salesman didn't steer us wrong.
Pros: Bright display

Love the space but DISLIKE the icemaker

The storage space in the fridge and freezer are great!! One major flaw is the ice-maker. There are 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) in my family and there is never enough ice. I had a much smaller 2 door whirlpool fridge and we never ran out of ice, not even when we had guests over. I had to buy a separate ice-maker. For the $$$ spent, I expected a decent ice-maker (nothing more than any other fridge in the market with an ice-maker.) I've also heard the loud "clunking", and thought my ice maker was giving up. After seeing another person post about the noise, I guess this is what happens with the ice-maker.
To sum it up, Spacing in the fridge and freezer = great; ice-maker = poor
Pros: Bright display
Cons: icemaker

I bought this to replace an LG french door and it has more capacity, is better arranged, and very good lighting. Very quiet operation, water is colder, and the ice maker takes up less interior room than any othr I've seen.
