Doing laundry properly takes a little effort. I think everybody knows the basics. Reading the labels on your clothes should be a general indicator of how they are to be washed. Reading the instruction manual for your new washer is also a good place to start. These folks with issues from day one should review the owners manual for the proper installation of the washer/dryer. Leveling and a solid floor is paramount for the proper operation of this washer. Hot water temp. and knowing the hardness of your water are also good ideas as its harder to get things clean when the water is not treated properly, like well water and some city supplies. The type and amount of the new (He) detergents is also very important in these Samsung washers. Again consult the manual or online assistance. Now in my case I'm not an expert on washing machines or in washing clothes. I do know the basics mentioned above so I can get by with minimum effort. My wife has many more parameters to meet and as such she did the research and picked this Samsung washer. I have a folder of printed reviews from JD Power, Consumer reports, and many online sites which all agree to the ability of this washer to get the job done. This series of Samsung washers is always at the top or very near of any formal reviews. After the new washer/dryer were installed on pedestals the amount of noise both those devices made did not equal the old GE washer that was replaced. In other words its QUIET! OK so how well did it clean clothes? I could see a difference in my work shirts/pants because I still had some in my closet that were washed by the old GE washer. I decided to time the cycles to see if the indicated time was really the time it took to complete the selected cycle. Sure enough it was with in 60 seconds of the indicated time. My wife has customized some of the wash settings with the average wash cycle at about 50 minutes. With the higher speed spin the clothes come out just about dry. The dryer runs for maybe 20 minutes with a full load to dry. The wash/dry time for a complete load is about 65 to 70 minutes which is a saving of over 30 minutes compared to my previous GE set. My wife can now wash/dry her comforters and king size bed linens with ease. I have not seen a reduction in my electric usage as everybody in the immediate family wants to try this outstanding washer. Now that its winter I did notice a slight reduction of water use on my quarterly bill, this may or may not be a result of the Samsung but I'd like to think so. I think the overall experience with this Samsung product is positive and as mentioned previously there are some basics that must be addressed first. Its nice to be on the leading edge of washing/drying technology. I've been asked is that Samsung worth the price? My wife says yes and me, well I've spent that much on my riding JD garden tractor so what do I know. Remember buy cheap and buy twice. I highly recommend this series of Samsung washer and dryers.
What's great about it: State of the art, and when used properly works 100%
What's not so great: More of the family watches it then the 50" LCD in the living room!!!!

My wife and I researched all front loading washers and all signs pointed to this machine. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. Extremely quiet and energy efficient. The clothes come out cleaner and the large capacity cuts down on the number of loads. I have to wear white socks everyday and they get very dirty. I had to bleach a load of socks once every couple of weeks to get them looking better. I thought I would give them a whirl in the Samsung without the bleach just to see the outcome. I was very surprised to see they were very clean. I am sold on this machine, it will not disappoint you.
What's great about it: Our clothes come out much cleaner now.

I have had this washer for 2.5 months now and have been extremely satisfied with my purchase. We have 2 large dogs and a baby and everything we have washed gets extremely clean even without using Steam or Heavy Duty. The Normal wash cycle is only about 40 minutes long and you can add extra features to any wash cycle to customize it for you.
The true test of the washer was when we put a large canvas sleeping bag that we let the dogs sleep on in the washer. Before it was washed it smelled awful. After putting it through the Heavy Duty cycle it came out with no scent of dog whatsoever. With our old top loader that sleeping bag wouldn't even fit, and if it had, similar items (dog bedding) had to be washed at least 4-5 times before they smelled or looked clean. My husband does a lot of outdoor activities and I used to spend a lot of time washing his clothes at least twice to make them smell clean. Even though the wash cycles are longer on this machine it saves me time not having to wash things 2 or 3 times to get them looking and smelling clean.
I think that other reviewers who are having problems with their cycle length may have problems with the water supply not filling up the washer properly. Also, due to some of the comments about poor Samsung customer service I went ahead and purchased the Best Buy Extended Warranty Plan so that I don't have to go through Samsung.

Once you enter into the jungle of front loading washers and dryers’ picking one out that fits all your needs plus is reliable and "affordable" is not easy. Our search included all the major brands. We opted for getting the most reliable one that did everything we wanted and bit the bullet as far as price was concerned - it is competitive to the other upper end products but it is still an expensive (but worth it) purchase. The Samsung really hits 5 stars in regards to easy & intuitive controls, quiet operation and feature rich design. It gives you a feeling of quality in how it looks works and operates (right down to the cute chime signals). Clothes come out clean and smelling fresh. Very reasonable wash times. The load capacity of this washer is amazing. We also bought the matching Dryer. They work great together. We purchased the pedestals which give great storage space (of note - they are much sturdier than the LG stands and attach more securely). So far we are more than pleased with the purchase. We received great assistance from our local Best Buy & they also did an excellent job with delivery and setup. Highly recommend the Samsung product.
What's great about it: Very quiet operation, no vibration, ease of use, Best of both worlds - Steam and Silver Care, great looks

I am very happy with my new front loading washer. It saves lots of water by sensing the size of each load and only adding as much water as is needed. I love the Silver Care setting for cold water. It gets all types of clothes and bedding and towels so clean. The spin works great too. The clothes are only slightly damp if I put it on high spin. It also saves on detergent. You need to buy the HE type, which does cost a bit more, but you only need a little bit. I recommend leaving the door open for about 20 minutes after you empty the load, as the water left on the door might smell musty if you don't do laundry everyday. It is also super quiet when it is on. I have mine on top of a "pedestal", so it is easier on the back.
What's great about it: Quiet, saves water, steams items really clean, Silver Care for cold works great!
What's not so great: Cycles are long, if you use extra wash, and prewash settings

Yes, it's a lot of money but if you have a use for all the features it offers, well worth it. The steam cycle is excellent for sterilizing items as well as the Silver Care for items that can't stand high temperatures.
Cycle times are reasonable for most loads; can be long if you add on a bunch of extras.
The machine is very quiet so I would recommend it for areas of your home that could be noise sensitive.
Clothes come out very clean and dry--even our dog beds came out great and odor-free.
If you want to save a few $$, there are other similar Samsung models without the Silver Care/Steam cycle.
What's great about it: Clothes very clean, quiet machine

We replaced a 10 year old front washer with this Samsung about six months ago. I love the large capacity of the tub; it significantly cut down on the number of loads that I have to wash. I have washed queen sized comforters & it did a good job with them. The drum light is a nice feature also, since the drum is so large.
This machine is very quiet & does not shake the room. Our old machine was very loud during the spin cycles.
This machine offers a huge variety of pre-programmed cycles, which you can further customize as needed.
We ordered this through BestBuy.com & had it delivered to our house. Delivery & setup were great & they hauled away our old machine.
Best Buy had the best price. I just think it is a lot to pay for a washing machine, so I only gave that 4 stars. But overall, it is a great machine & I am very pleased with it and the ordering/delivery process.
What's great about it: Very quiet, large capacity, variety of cycles

I never write reviews...but could not help myself on this one. We LOVE this washer and dryer combo. This is our first front loading combination pair. We chose to stack ours. We can do four times the amount of laundry in one load, than we used to do, as well as our KING size comforters. There are so many cycles to choose from...and we love the steam cycles, since we have dogs and their bedding to clean and sanitize. Washer is easy to use and gets the clothes super clean! I also love the fact that Best Buy delivers and gets them both set up and running in no time. I am not sorry for this purchase and the price is worth it! The laundry and fabric softener dispenser is also easy to get to. You cannot go wrong with this pair. Worth every penny!
What's great about it: Gets clothes super clean...easy to use
What's not so great: Can't find anything that is not great....
