Broke coming out of the package!

I picked up one of these today, and the top swivel part broke off as I was taking it out of the package... it was just a cheap plastic connection, so no way to fix it. Bummer! Will return it tomorrow...
What's not so great: Broke before I could use it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is ingenious. It can be adjusted on an uneven surface. We set it up on the back of a chair.
What's great about it: So versital for those hard to set up places.

Innovative idea for amateur photographers...

I purchased the Sunpak FlexPod in-store (without reading any of the reviews) for use with both a light weight digital camera and pocket camcorder. I would have also considered purchasing the small Joby gorillapod (for a few more $) had I known about it, and read all of the reviews.
As other reviewers have indicated, the locking ball head release system does not tightly secure the camera to the tripod, so there is a small amount of "wobble" when the camera is attached - however, I am not really concerned that this tiny amount of movement will destroy my photographs/videos once the tripod is set in place, unless being used on a vibrating or unstable surface, or outdoors in extremely windy conditions.
What the Sunpak FlexPod is: a useful, innovative tool for the casual, amateur photo/videographer who doesn't want to spend a lot of $ on equipment - i.e., you get exactly what you pay for...
What the Sunpak FlexPod is NOT: an expensive tripod for heavy-duty, everyday use in producing professional quality photographs and videos - i.e., again, you get exactly what you pay for...
What's great about it: price, flexibility, light weight
What's not so great: locking ball head release system could be improved
I would recommend this to a friend!

This pod is a nice idea but the part that you screw into the camera fit poorly on the camera, fit poorly in the pod, and fell off and got lost within minutes of stowing the first time I used it in the field.
Best Buy was great about taking the return. Since I lost the part that fell off, upon return it was incomplete and they didn't really have to take it back at all.
What's great about it: It was in stock
What's not so great: It ain't no gorilla pod
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good idea, one weak point

Love the idea. Had it for a couple months. Worked great until I tried to make a last minute adjustment with my digital camera on it. The camera and swivel mount snapped off it my hand with the breaking point being between where the legs come together and where the swivel tightens. I am going to check into the warranty, but it may be cheaper or easier to buy a new one depending on shipping costs. I tried to super glue it, but it was just too small of a surface.
What's great about it: Very versitale. Reg. table tripod, & many other places too!
What's not so great: Weak spot between where legs come together & swivel tightens.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This tripod is a must get to use for all situations that a standard tripod would be overkill....which is about all times when you have a small camera or webcam. Thanks to the flex legs you can mount this thing practically anywhere and it holds tight. The color is a definite plus as well, not a boring accessory.
What's great about it: flexible legs, small size
What's not so great: none
I would recommend this to a friend!

Like others, I purchased this tripod feeling good about the versatility of a tripod which can basically be mounted anywhere. However, after two uses one of the legs just broke off making the tripod useless. Don't waste your money on this poor quality product.
What's great about it: Nice Thought
What's not so great: No Durability
