This is one of the those situations where you get what you pay for. There are cheaper controllers out there but, they don't last as long as the Sony brand ones. My last one lasted through my husband and two kids for the last 6 years and only died when a friend threw it during a hissy fit after he lost his game.

This is the second ps3 controller i've bought from best buy due to the last one's left analog stick would become stuck in the lower right hand corner preventing proper game play or navagation of the ps3 xmb.
