This controller feels a bit lighter compared to the ps2 dualshock but heavier than the six axis controller. I recommend getting a charge station for it so you don't have to remember to plug in the USB cord to charge it while you're not playing or have an extra controller charged up. It just sucks when you're ready to dish out a few good hours of playtime when your controller dies and you have to sit close to the system because you can only play with the USB cord connected.
What's great about it: Wireless with an internal battery
What's not so great: Shorter battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Get it!

A bit heavier than previous controller but feels comfortable. Rumble function is lots of fun with supported games and feedback experience occurs in real-time. PS3 controllers are pricey but compared to previous one, extra cost of upgrading is worth it.
What's great about it: Sensitive/fine control, feedback interaction
What's not so great: Rubberized buttons collect dust, no built-in battery gauge, USB cable not included
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just got this controller the other day and so far I LOVE IT! Its really great with GRID. In the game GRID you can feel the "shift shock" in your controller sometimes. The Rumble is great very responsive i cant see how i was able to play without it. plus its new! if you play your playstation as much as i do and your using the L2 & R2 buttons a lot if you compare your old SIXAXIS (non-dualshock) controller that came with your playstation to the new controller you can tell a difference in the L2 & R2 resistance.
On my old controller the R2 was especially worn with little resistance to pull in. my new DUALSHOCK is more "spring loaded" because its a new controller, i personally like to have resistance in the "trigger buttons" so when you let off the gas in a game like Grid you know the "gas button" is returning fully or the brake.
Best money ive spent in a long time for any game system.
What's great about it: uhm..DUALSHOCK! WIRELESS!
What's not so great: none

The dualshock 3 is a supports the feedback and motion sensitivity of the sixaxis, and whats better is the list of compatibility games it works with...
Good to know the rumble feature is back on the DS3, which wasn't available on the sixaxis.
What's great about it: Internal battery, works with most games.
What's not so great: Doesnt come with the usb cable...
I would recommend this to a friend!

Another Great Controller From Sony

Sony's controller has had almost the exact same flawless design for three console generations. It has become even better now that it's wireless.
The SIXAXIS doesn't really seem to be very useful right now but maybe games in the future will take advantage of it.
What's great about it: Best controller design ever
What's not so great: Should have came with original PS3

great for ps2/ps3

I was already extremely happy with the Sixaxis controller, but I could not resist getting the DualShock 3. Not only do you get the rumble, but also, it feels much better in your hands, even for those games that do not use this feature. The rumble function is fun, but on top of that, it helps with gameplay, because "feeling" what is happening provides a lot more feedback than just watching how your character or car reacts to the environment.
The biggest surprise of all was that the rumble works with PS 2 games in the PS 3 system. I am currently playing through "God of War", a game which had the rumble capability in PS 2. I thought that it was unlikely that I was going to get this feature with this new controller in the PS 3, but it worked perfectly.
I know that having to buy a new controller and basically discard the one that came with the system is not the ideal situation, but I have to say this product is really worth shedding the extra bucks.
What's great about it: comfort
What's not so great: none
I would recommend this to a friend!

I know your probably thinking, that is a lot of money for a controller and why should I buy one just because it vibrates. Well you don't know what your missing in the games until you get one, I was on the sidelines for a while but it was definitly worth buying after playing with it. It is heavier then the sixaxis controller, but in a good way. Vibration feature feels stronger then any other PS3 controller ever made. Battery life is similar to that of the old ps3 controller, 12-18 hours.
What's great about it: Strong vibrate feature, all previous features still there.
What's not so great: Cost, but its worth it.
I would recommend this to a friend!
