Can’t wait to get rid of this AWFUL machine wha
on August 10, 2014

from Memphis, TN, USA
Pros: space saver and cool looking
Cons: I don’t know where to begin:
1. The washer becomes unbalanced on almost every load no matter the contents, size of the load, and placement of articles prior to washing.
2. The washer does not clean clothes adequately – they will at times still smell and often have the dirty stains they started with even after pre-treating. There will be dry spots on clothes after wash cycle – meaning they were never fully integrated into the wash cycle.
3. If you use the recommended amount of laundry detergent it will leave residue on the clothes, even after the extra rinse cycle; therefore, best to use less soap.
4. The repairman came out to check the operation of the machine and the balance problems and found nothing wrong. He admitted the machine doesn't use enough water to clean clothes properly, said to use the “Bulky/Bedding” setting so the clothes have more water on them. (totally goes against all the efficiency claims.)
5. Overall, DO NOT PURCHASE this machine if you would like clean clothes washed in an efficient way and don’t want to set up camp in your laundry room to monitor each load.
6. I would LOVE to exchange this clunker for another washer!

Innovative Look

This model improves on a space issue for our installation without the controls on the back.
We love the quiet operation (however it does make different sounds than older technologies), and the clean lines of the appliance.
One interesting issue is that my wife at 5'3" cannot reach the bottom of the drum to remove clothes without a stool.
We also find that to completely remove soap residue from dark clothes, a second rinse is necessary.
Pros: Style/Design

Wish I still had a top loader with agitator
on December 11, 2014

Clothes do not get clean, takes forever and I have to fool it with adding a bucket of water to actually get the clothes clean. I have had it for about six months and wish I would have never purchased it, if I could trade for the old technology, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Hate this washing machine

The washer does not spin the clothes dry with out going out of balance. Then it fills with water again, agitates the clothes and tries to spin again. I have attempted 8-10 spins and just given up and threw the wet clothes in the dryer after ringing them out myself. I HATE this washing machine. If I could lift it by myself it would be in our dumpster.

Regret this purchase!
on January 4, 2014

I bought this washer in order to conserve water and energy. I wish I had never done so! I originally wanted a front loader but decided on this one due to being tall and not wanting to bend over so much as needed with a front loader. The balancing rarely works and it takes me hours to do our laundry! True Balance technology would be great if it worked without having to refill over and over again to try and find balance. I certainly have had the same experience as another reviewer. The largest regret of an appliance purchase for us!

I could wash clothes faster and better by hand

Really? The same towel that was on top of the load when I started it it is still on top of the load when the load finished.
Took two hours for a load on whitest whites setting.
The load is always off-balance, and the clothes don't get clean because the lack of agitation.

Love My New LG Washer
on July 16, 2013

from El Paso, TX
This is one of the best washers I have ever bought. Has lots of great features, easy to operate. My clothes comes out cleaner and smelling good, no matter the size of the load. I am using less detergent than before. Washer is so quiet and love the signal tune when the load is done. I no longer go to the laundromat for my king size linens; this washer can handle it all. The funny thing is that I can't reach to the bottom to take out the last of the load cause the washer is so deep. But I love my washer, since the very first time I used it............. I HIGHLY recommend it.....
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Great Washer With One Exception
on August 22, 2013
Posted by: G-Man
from Washington, DC, USA
That exception is time. Yes it uses less water; yes it is far more efficient; yes it is cutting edge technology; and yes clothes come out brilliantly clean and soft to the touch with no more gummy feeling from excess detergent left during the wash; but the time required for some loads of up to 1hour 10 minutes is a bit much, with 54 minutes on average for all different types of clothes. Sort of the defeats the HE label right?
