Overall I love this game. I like the fact they put the old levels from previous mario kart games but amped them up for wii. The steering function I thought would be really sketchy but works very well and reacts pretty well to the Wii sensor bar.
What's great about it: Steering function, online multiplayer
What's not so great: Lag on multiplayer has been a issue
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a great game. The new wii wheel is awesome. I love all the great classic tracks plus the new ones. I highly recommend this game for everyone.

excellent game. i was counting down the days. i like the wheel too. takes some getting used to but i like it alot now

Great game. Takes a little getting used to the power sliding and new items. Does differ from older Mario Kart games but what game doesn't advance? If you are looking for a new type of interactivity with video games, Mario Kart and the Wii Wheel is a great place to start. I recommend that one buys at least 2 wheels, that is one additional to the game package, in case you want to team with a friends or family. Enjoy!
What's great about it: Wii Wheel is interactive, new maps and characters, incorporates old maps
What's not so great: Can be confusing to players used to former forms of Mario Kart
I would recommend this to a friend!

This game is super fun for the whole family. My 10 yr old & 13 yr old love this game. We have been a huge fan of the Mario Kart games and this one for Wii is awesome!!! Love the online feature. This game does not get any better oh wait we just unlocked some new tracks and characters. This game rocks. Buy it you won't regret it.
What's great about it: Love playing online
What's not so great: none

The game is innovative and fun! The idea of using a wheel for Mario Cart is so awesome! Great for adults and kids. Two player is challenging and fun!
What's great about it: Addictive and Fun!
What's not so great: Steering is Tricky!

This is one of the most fun games for Wii currently out there in my opinion! It's a great multi-player game, but just as fun playing solo too. I highly recommend this game!

While I didn't pre-order this game I was definitely excited for its release and arrived at the store early to ensure I had a copy right off the bat. Mario Kart Wii is definitely keeping in-line with previous generations, especially aided by the re-appearance of classic levels which bring me back to the good ole' days of hours-upon-hours of after-school entertainment with friends. While I haven't played long enough to unlock any other levels I am encouraged by what I've seen thus far.
The wheel accessory is definitely a nice touch, Nintendo is certainly not pulling any punches when it comes to proving that a simple design is usually the best. The remote slides right in and is ready to go, which I found to be much more user friendly than the zapper (at least for those of us who aren't really mechanically enclined). The downside is that I don't think a completly free-floating, wireless steering wheel has ever been developed so it does take some getting used to. It wasn't until I figured out that you're better off holding the wheel parallel to your body (like a bus driver) as opposed to perpendicular (like a normal car) that I was twisting my arms in all sorts of weird positions in a vain effort to avoid falling off the track, much less drifting.
The Nintendo WFC helps put the icing on the cake -- I think Nintendo learned their lesson with the Gamecube that Internet-based multiplayer is now essentially a requirement for a successful game.
What is comes down to is Mario Kart Wii is a solid, simple game that will please both the kiddies and those of us who were "Classically Trained." My Wii just jumped yet another rung ahead of my PS3 on the gaming ladder.
What's great about it: No experience necessary, fun for the kids
What's not so great: Wheel kind of hard to get used to
