This game will hook you in once you play Mario Kart Wii. This game will change the level of your competitiveness 10 fold. This game can also go online up to 2 players on the wifi on the same wii at a time. Now indstead of 8 players in a race there are 12. I say Mario Kart Wii is sooooo worth it but you have to buy the wheel to. This game also has items like a bullet bill which goes super fast and makes you invincible and a star whitch makes you invincible and go faster and about 15 others that are just as good. This game has 32 maps to pick from but inorder to get the last 16 you need to get trophys. This game also has bikes and karts. They can all do tricks in mid air and when they land they get a boost but only bikes can do a wheely and get a small boost which just might get you 1st not 2nd. Also is you hold 2 which is to go at the beginning before it starts you will burn your engine, spin out and be delayed for start for about 3 seconds. This game also has world wide capabilities. It also comes with the wheel. The game only costs $50 and it comes with a wheel. Overall Mario Kart Wii is sooooooooooooooooo worth it.

I have been a Maio Kart fan since the Super Mario Kart first came out on the Super NES. Then I was a fan of Mario Kart on the 64. Then I was a fan of Mario Kart on the Gamecube. Now there is the Mario Kart Wii.
Big selection of characters to choose from, great control with the Wii Wheel, all new power ups, tricks, tracks, carts and the motorbikes! The game makes really good use of the Wiimote.
The graphics aren't that much better than the gamecube, but that really didn't bother me. The sounds are what you would expect from Mario Kart.
Better yet, the Wii version is online ready! Join the WFC or play against a buddy over the internet. The WFC puts players against total strangers all over the world to compete.
What's great about it: New courses, new vehicles, new power-ups!
What's not so great: not enough time in a day to play

I'd only tried MarioKart for Wii once before, at a relative's house, but could immediately see how it could become addicting. Not surprisingly, when I received a Wii of my own, one of my earliest game purchases was MarioKart.
With its vibrant colors, cute characters and cartoonish approach to competition, MarioKart Wii upholds the stellar Nintendo approach of creating games that everyone can enjoy together. It would be impossible to summarize all of the individual elements of a game on a review site like this, so let's focus on the major themes.
Usability A 7 out of 10 here. WIth every new generation of console, it seems new versions of games (and Mario Kart has a history spanning several platforms) need to pack in new features to show the capabilities of the new platform. That's all well and good, and the end result with Mario Kart Wii is a mind-blowing array when you combine the (1) multiple race course options, (2) features/obstacles you encounter on the courses, (3) race car options and (4) ways to play (one player, multiple players working as a team or against one another...not to mention the online versions). It's not that fewer options would necessarily improve the game, but what would help is the ability to turn some of that off and on based on the skill levels of the player(s).
Appearance 10 out of 10 (maybe 11 out of 10, really). The visual detail is remarkable (keep in mind, this is coming from soneone whose game playing days date to the Atari 2600, to be fair), and looks like a crayon factory exploded onto the screen. Bright, eye catching colors with clever design touches make this game as much a feast for the eyes as the mind.
Family Appeal 9 out of 10. The very young and those with little to no familiarity with video games will find it hard to play along, moreso if you have an experienced gamer who ends up leaving the less talented in the proverbial dust. But if everyone playing can keep in mind the mantra that it's just a game, and has some fun when they drive their car into the middle of the ocean or off a cliff, Mario Kart Wii can be a fun bonding experience for everyone.
All in all, there's a good reason Mario Kart Wii remains so popular. It's quite simply an amazing game that showcases the Wii system in all its glory, and helps explain why Wii is as popular as it is.
What's great about it: Family friendly fun that offers ample opportunity to explore and learn
What's not so great: Can be overwhelming to understand initially.

Bought if for the kids who are 5 and 6; but found myself playing when they were finished. This game is fun for the whole family. There is no violence or mature themes. There are a lot of different options that keep the game from getting to repetitive and the courses are pretty challenging.
If you are looking for a "realistic" race game, this is not it; however, this is a "fun" game and is not meant to be serious.
What's great about it: Fun to play with the whole family.

My family loves this game. We have the Wii version and are able to play with other members of the family across town. It is a great game for kids too. Works their hand/eye coordination. I would recommend this game to any one who wants a family friendly game that they can play together.
