Room for improvement

I bought this freezer after my 11 year old one stopped working. The freezers are basically the same but I was able to store more items in my old model . I miss the 2 big drawers at the bottom and all the storage space provided by the door shelves. This model has a deep drawer that slides over the bottom floor and if you are not careful will drop over your feet. I fear that it will eventually dent or break the surface of the freezer bottom. The second drawer is shallow and will not store much. There is a sliding shelf/basket called pizza shelf. I called Frigidaire because I saw it sagging from the weight of some bags of vegetables. I was told that it is for a few boxes of Pizza and will only hold 6 or 8 pounds of weight. I consider that useless and removed it from the freezer. The freezer door bins are small and it comes with only 3, wasting most of the door space. I had to order and pay for an additional one.
Some features are better. The lighting is fantastic. The digital control panel was greatly improved, but the alarm is not loud enough. It can also freeze to under -15 degrees. I checked other brands available in the size and price range and they did not have all the features of this one, so it was the best available to me.

Can't keep it running

I bought this freezer a few years ago thinking it would be perfect for the space, and the fact that deep freezers usually last years upon years. However, we have had nothing but issues with this thing. It will randomly stop running without letting you know. The digital read out next changes off of 0 or let's you know if it hits defrost mode. We try to keep the ice cleaned out of the inside and it still shuts off. Since we regularly use it, we've caught it in time with minimal loss of meat and food. However, if we didn't use it as often, it would've cost us dearly in lost groceries. We've had this happen 5 times in the last 2 and half years. Terrible, terrible freezer! Don't waste your money!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Product, Needs Better Shelf Flexibility

This is used for long term storage and to freeze produce from our large garden. The upper half width door baskets need one more basket or be full width. Substantial wasted space. The door soft storage does not allow upright storage of many standard ice cream packages. The main storage area is not flexible enough.

Used to replace a chest freezer. Found food that was bought months ago. Everything has been working great so far. Had a power outage and it held the cold very good. Will be buying more door shelves to better utilize that space. It's a bit noisier than I am used to, but it's sitting in my garage. Wouldn't want it as an indoor freezer.

Silent reassurance

Purchased about four months ago, after the timely death of another freezer, this unit has done exactly as it should...silent and effective in storing our food. The LED lighting is bright and helps in the search of hard-to-find items. Extra reassurance is provided by the presence of two alarms: door ajar and temperature rise.

LOVE my new freezer!!

I purchased my new freezer almost 2 months ago. I absolutely love it. It allows me to organizer my freezer so everything is more accessible and easy to see. The only suggestion would be to add one more basket on the door for added flexibility.
