I upgraded from the Galaxy S2 to this S4. I thought the S2 was amazing, which it was, but the upgrade to the S4 made me somewhat of a phone snob. When I hear about iPhone 4's with screens that are unusable and un-swipeable, I just turn my nose up an say.."never had that problem with my Samsung galaxy. "
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: needs better sound/speakers

This is a nice smartphone with lots of handy aps available.

This is my first somewhat powerful smartphone. So, that is where I am coming from!
This is an unlocked phone. I travel abroad a lot and needed a GSM unlocked phone, thus my value rating, as I paid for the device without benefit of a contract.
This phone is easy to use and has plenty of aps out there to make life easier. There are also plenty of accessories available for these Samsung phones. The jacks are standardized.
I like the voice feature for driving. It doesn't learn, but it is very handy for hands free finding of directions, navigating, sending texts while driving and such.
I sometimes have issues with the touchscreen. At these times it will not respond to touch commands or typing entries or whatever I am trying to do. Buffing the screen with a soft cloth to clean it freaks out the phone, but after it recovers, seems to help. I don't believe I am a dirty fingered kid, but maybe I am! Maybe it is oils???! I don't know. I have also seen the screen image shake on occasion. I do not know what causes this.
The battery life isn't great, so charge it daily and turn off the GPS and other hogs.
It is too soon to say how durable it is! I put in a case straightaway, of course. I had to remove the screen protector I had put on as the phone simply would not respond to commands with it on. Still, there has been no scratching on the screen without it.
All in all, it seems to be a good phone. And, it is certainly more than satisfying my needs.

The only problem that I have with the S4 is the battery life. After a couple months the battery life dropped by about a quarter. Overall it allows me to get what I need done, I especially like the Polaris app.

This phone is fast and reliable. It updates quickly and I'd super fast downloading new apps. I like the newer version of Android and the features which come along with that.
Great camera! Not much need for a real camera now! Some apps let us listen to radio stations anywhere we have a signal. On a long trip, that sure is nice. We download books and listen to them, too.
Originally my husband and I were going to get Samsung Galaxy 5s phones but the deal on the 4s was so good that we could not pass it up. We have no regrets with our decision. Great phone!
